The xi's are always higher, regardless of the motor. So, I suppose you could say they look less aggressive. You could always lower it aftermarket.

yes the Xis are higher, but you can drop it like^^^ said...but i guess it might be a bit better in snow because its higher, thats why you are buying a Xi, for snow...

The difference in height between the e92 i and xi is 0.8" (54.1" vs 54.9"). Its pretty unlikely that anyone will notice the difference. The e90 has much larger height difference.

both the E90 and the E92 are lowered 15 mm with sports suspension. The case with X-Drive is it needs more space, that's why BMW don't offer it with sports suspension.
There's still the same difference between an E90 and an E92 that has sports suspension and one that has X-Drive, only 15 mm, on both models.

Even the xi with a sport package does not have the lowered suspension. The i coupes (with or without sport) and e90's WITH sport have 0.8" lower suspension.
It is not there to make room for the AWD hardware--as someone else said, you can lower the suspension aftermarket without running into any of the hardware (although I suppose some of the clearances might drop below minimum BMW production design standards). As far as looks go, I believe it's noticeable. 0.8" on the dimensions of the overall car is very small. However, if you look at the wheel gaps--the black space between the top of the tire and the fender, it's only an inch or two. So the 0.8" is a big % difference in the wheel gap, which is what changes the look significantly. |

The SP on the XIs are just the steering wheel, upgraded rims and most importantly the sport seats. In addition, I believe you can also upgrade to staggered performance tires too.

And as stated earlier, it's to make room for the AWD-hardware.

The xi is still pretty low compared to other cars. I lightly scraped the bottom front lip(thankfully it wiped off) on those little parking blocks that I use to always clear with my old civic and lancer.

There are a slight height and wheel gap differences between i and xi regarding to coupes. I've compared 1 right next to the other, not a big difference but I would say about 1 inch? Also In my own opinion I like 17" wheels better than 18" on an e92. Just my opinion

I have an AW 328xi and my friend has the AW 335i and we definitely noticed the difference when we parked them side by side. My xi was looking like a monster truck compared to the nice low sporty stance of the i.
