Rear View Camera GroupBuy and Install. Double Updated with pictures, pricing, etc)

[Update]: I installed the unit on my vehicle, and it was a straightforward DIY. The guide he has on his website is excellent when it comes to installation. I am VERY VERY satisfied with the quality of the product, and the service by Kris. He replies to emails in a matter of minutes, and he is very helpful. That being said, He will still honor the group buy (Even though I received and installed my set already).

Basically at this point I just want to help out fellow forum members acquire and install this kit. It truly is an awesome kit, and works perfectly. It has a very wide angle lens, and you can clearly see the entire rear of your vehicle.

My Pics:

Link to product: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332911

The kit is for any make (CIC or CCC) with idrive.

There is a DIY posted, and the Camera looks very OEM using the OEM interface.

Also, for those that are interested, we could also install them simultaneously next to each other, which should make the install a breeze.

Price as follows:

1. Back up camera kit for 1st gen (CCC) : $425.00 shipped (originally $500.00 shipped)
2. Back up camera kit for 2nd gen (CIC) : $435.00 shipped (originally $510.00 shipped)

Info I need from you:

Year
Model
Transmission Type:

1. 1NS0MN1A (2012/ 335is / DCT)
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

In order to be put on the list, you must send me a $200 Deposit via paypal. I will then wait until we have all 10 deposits, and then send that directly to Kris. All you have to do from there is pay him the difference and he will send you a set, which will be $225 or $235 depending on your model.

Notes: I am not responsible for the product. I did my research and he has the best price for the highest quality oem style. If we never hit 10 people (which we will) I will send your deposit back to you. PM me and we will work out the deposit info before I put you on the list.

Gallery of the unit: http://modmynav.com/gallery.html

Note: it is the best quality kit we could possibly buy. Do not worry about quality!

What is a "good" price in your book?

I haven't really researched this kit/I am not really sure which kit you are referring to anyways.
Depending on the ease of install and quality I will determine if the price is reasonable. For example, a $4-500 kit is reasonable if it offers stock-like functionality, no permanent modifications to the car and a good camera that I don't have to replace a day later because of poor performance.

Fitment is spot on. Looks 100% OEM, and even uses the OEM camera location and software. The install is 100% plug and play and you don't have to modify anything to make it work.

I am guessing the price will be around $450. That being said, who is in?

We can all get together and do it one by one. There is a pretty good DIY on their website.

I am going to remove the current list. If you are 100% down with the price, let me know on this thread, and then I will contact you with details.

Thanks

Haha same. I can't install anything. Don't want to screw it up. Also don't want to be dead weight. I mean how many of us know what they're doing?

So $450 for the group buy? Or $425? And it includes everything needed for the install?

It is 425 for pre 09 and 435 for 09 to current. And it includes everything and is completely PnP. I have all the tool we need to install. We could all get together and install.

I will send you a pm now.

Thanks. Do you have a back up camera on your car? And how useful do you find it? I'm 50/50 at this point. Plus not sure how it looks at night. I read images can be grainy at night. Plus install can take a while.

No no, no back up camera on my car. I'm sorta okay with just the parking sensors. My mother has it on her x5 and there are some contrast and brightness changers but other than that it's not like 720 or 1080p quality I assure you, but works well even in low lit places. I haven't seen this one in action so it's hard for me to decide whether or not I want it. Maybe after seeing it and possibly trying it in person. Instaall maybe tops 1-2hrs? since it is a PnP
