335i squeaking at low speeds
I have came across a few posts here and there with people having the same issue but never did I come across a solution. The squeaking occurs ONLY at low speeds (0-20mph). Loud and very annoying. Seems like the squeaking starts once the car heats up (brakes). Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks !

I get this problem as well, rear passenger side for me. The first time it was brake wear sensors and it was good for almost a year. Second time the sensor was fine, the dealer lubed up the brake assembly but it came back quickly. I'm going to switch from OEM brakes and rotors after the winter, I've never heard of anyone having the problem after switching.

What exactly does it sound like? I think I might have this problem as well.

Guys check that the dust shield is not pinched too close to the rotor. You can push those aluminum shields away from the rotor by hand without jacking the car up

Yea just went thru it. Lots of debris can get pinched in between causing that low speed grinding/squealing noise

A very common problem with no clear-cut solution.

I was having the same issue with my rear passenger wheel. I had all the contact points/brake pad assembly lubed. I had it done 2/3 months ago. Has not come back.

Tried pushing on the disk shield on the back wheels and same squeaking. On the drivers side one of the shields seems to be bent inward a little I tried pushing back as much as I could but nothing. I guess I will try the lube next.

I had the same issue. As soon as my car warms up 10 to 15 minutes I hear this cricket/chirping squealing sound. When I brake it goes away.
The weirdest thing just happened recently and may be a solution to help others, or not but it helped me by fluke. I recently bought a new set of rims and winter tires. Now, before they were installed I figured hey, why not spray the calipers and rotor hubs gloss black, to match my black rims. Since then I have not gotten any squeal since the 1st of November. Now I did notice maybe a quiet squeal burp when I was making a right turn. This was after 3 weeks of not washing the car. As soon as I washed the car, and rims, sprayed water at the calipers and shield thoroughly, the noise was gone... I'm no expert, but something is working and perhaps another member can diagnose it further on what happened here haha. Just fluked out and the annoying squeal is gone. It's embarrassing pulling up at places in a nice car hearing that horrible sound. Just happy it's gone now. Last edited by blackturbo; 12-05-2013 at 04:36 AM.. |

I think I have the same issue. My dealer said that since the car was sitting still for such a long time that the brakes got bent in a little and rust began to build up. Its very embarrassing whenever I come to a full stop and especially when Im at a drive thru window.
