My nice new winter car!
Hi Guys!
Seeing as Winter is coming, I set out with the intention of getting a cheap winter 4x4 to run alongside my Clio 197. Found a well priced Shogun that I could sell for the same or more come summer, and put my deposit down. The salesman put it in for it's MOT and it failed... Miserably.... So I figured I'd get the 4x4 I wanted instead, a Range Rover Sport. Took it for a test drive, loved it, parked back up at the Dealer and spotted this across the forecourt.... Turns out my ideal winter car is a 2009 E93 330d Msport Highline in Le Mans Blue It's only done 31000 miles, full BMW service history, and lots of boxes ticked on the options list. Love it, perfect combination of comfort, looks, economy and performance. I genuinely have no idea how my left leg coped with all that gear changing before?! I plan on maybe getting the gloss black kidney grills, the M3 lip spoiler and some gloss black VMR's. And obviously getting involved on here, there's some gorgeous motors on this forum! So hi everyone! Cheers, James Last edited by Foster85; 12-03-2013 at 07:14 AM.. |

Welcome
I think i went looking at the same car.... I hope you got a good deal on it, was way over priced imo as I'd seen a few LCI models that were a few grand cheaper, albeit they were 325d but they have the newer engine in |

It's all about how you link to Flickr, I'm on the mobile so can't demonstrate, but it's the links you need to look for under each photo (can't just use the url).

Hi Rich,
A few of the cars there are overpriced, but I knocked them down enough that I consider it to be a good deal. A11y - No idea how to do it, been through the share options on Flickr and all I can find is the url... Is it the embed HTML I should be using? |

Hi Jay!
Ah yeah.... another reason it's a perfect winter car is mine doesn't have heated seats...... Although my last car didn't, so I won't miss them I suppose (or thats what I keep telling myself)! Wasn't a deal breaker for me, just a nice to have! My thinking has now gone aong the lines of, 'Well, if I can't get to work, I might not get paid, but at least I should have a Ps4 by then...' |

Good to hear you knocked them down. I've been on the lookout myself for an e93 330d in le mans blue, good choice!

Custom Colours - Yeah the Clio would definitely be better in the snow, although I p/x'd it against the BMW. I think I'll get some snow socks and see how I get on.
djgandy - Cheers! Dsport - Funny you should say that, I've been looking at black mats, the cream ones mark so easily. What do you use to keep your leather looking good? jotty - Thanks, are the Smarttop modules difficult to fit? |

My cream mats were filthy within a couple of days, also the trim had a few marks on so I used Autosmart G101 on the carpets, leather and all the trim then treated the leather with gliptone, really good stuff, now just wipe it over with Walm soapy water and dry off,

Yes bud, the Smarttop took me around 30mins, there is an excellent instruction page on the website, motivemods.com, just update it on your pc first and again all cables are provided.

Cheers jotty, I'll add it to my list for Santa
Cheers Jon! Loving your rear diffuser, did it take long to change it over? Thanks Bungleaio, the car came with a pristine defelctor in the boot, yet to try it out though, I only put the roof down for the first time yesterday as I was waiting for the tints to dry. Even then I put it straight back up, the joys of the Pennines! |
