Rybrook BMW Warwick - big thumbs up
.... so last week on my newly-purchased 335d my DSC/ABS system failed completely as per the well documented problems with the earlier units.
I bought the BMW Insured (Comprehensive) warranty 2 days before this happened - but of course there is a cooling-off period at the start, so effectively I was left last week with a bill well north of £2.5k on a car with 22k miles since new and 6 service stamps in the book (2007/07 reg). Without even asking me - Rybrook sent off a message to BMW who came back with a "50% parts" offer of goodwill - still leaving me with a massive bill. So I sent a further email and Rybrook have really pushed BMW today - and between them I've ended up only paying £150 beyond what will be my Warranty excess. I think this is a really fair outcome that gives me the 2-year warranty on the new module - BMW did say that it was the service log evidence and the fact I'd paid for the Comp warranty that swung it in my favour. Made a point of thanking their service manager tonight to make sure the front desk guys get something from their monthly recognition programme. So top marks to Rybrook and just goes to show that extra services in the book and a polite but very firm response in writing still goes some way to helping out ! And credit to BMW for re-considering their offer, as they pointed out I'm outside even the 5 year goodwill internal limit so I can't really complain about having to pay some money for fixing a car bought privately. |

I should add it was Jack and Steve that sorted this - Jody did my M3 claim ages ago. Their service manager was well chuffed with being told this positive feedback. Really easy to moan at BMW dealers - less easy to praise them so I thought they deserved a very positive review

Good result.
My failed dsc/abs unit cost me £240 to repair via ECU testing, so there are alternatives for those without warranties. Thank f**k!

Did you buy your car from a BMW dealer or privately?

I've used them for years and they've always been excellent. Steve Collett is a top man and Jody is also a good lad. Great work deserves praise as much as crap service deserves derision!

Great to hear some good news regarding BMW dealerships.
I have heard many good things about Rybrook Warwick, so it's great to hear you also had a good experience!

I use Rybrook as well and think that they're pretty good. The service reception guys are all very good.

I'd agree with you they seem to be very good at Rybrook warwick sorting out my cracked alloy. Again it was the full history and the fact i'd taken a warranty out that swung it for me.
