BT Scan Tool to reset computer after battery change?

So after 80k miles, my battery is finally sputtering its last few starts and I have a conflict. The dealer near me is charging nearly $300 to swap out the battery and reprogram the ECU to accept it.

Can anyone give any info on whether or not the BT scan tool can reset the computer to accept the new battery? Or would it be better to get the battery separately, install it myself, and bring it to the dealer for reprogramming?

BT tool can do battery registration as long as it's the same AH rating. If your going lower or higher ah then need to use nscexpert to code Vo then use BT tool to register
