Safe to take a new car to a track?

So I had my car for about a week now and put around 500 miles on it.

In about a week, I signed up for a Track driving school, so that I could learn to handle the limits of this car.

I have been driving the car as if I would be driving normally. Not babying the car or anything, going up and down the revs, doing some hard accelerations on the freeway(did about 130mph) , and whatnot.

What do you guys think? Will it be bad for the car to take it to a track before the 1200 mile service?

No I would not track it until at least 1000 miles and the service is done. The break in diff oil can't take the high temps.

Ah, then I guess I would need to drive around a lot more to get the miles up.

Stupid question but will the dealer service your car around 1000 miles as opposed to the 1200 mile service?

A few had it done early and some of us late. But as stated before break your car in properly then go have your fun. Patience is the key to longevity of your investment.

Yes some will. I did mine at 1050, but in Germany. Remember there is two break in period there are some limited for 1200miles plus. I can't remember what they are but you can search the forum. As far as the oils you are good to go after the first services.

I would recommend taking to the track at least after your 1200miles break in service.

Dealer also recommend to flush the break fluids every time you track the car, but it'll depend on how hard you drive it (One or two laps vs 20 laps)

The oil in your new engine is thiner than the actual oil (0w30 or 5w30), so it's very important to get it changed during the break in service.
