New battery w/ 107ah, code as 90ah or 110ah?

I installed and registered a battery with 107ah.

The only options for coding the battery is 90ah or 110ah.

It is currently sitting at 90ah as overcharging seems more dangerous than undercharging.
However, I feel like setting it at 90ah is holding the battery back from reaching its full potential (last longer with engine off).

Is it safe to set it to 110ah? Or will that cause some serious problems and wear?

Did you ever get an answer? My new battery is 95ah, so I would think 90ah would be the best for me.

Well I decided that 110ah would be much closer to my 108.5ah so I coded it at 110ah. Battery lasts a lot longer than my oem battery.

I set my 108.5 ah battery to 110 as well (guessing someone else got an Autozone H8-DLG). Its my understanding that if you set it to 90 the battery will never get fully charged. Over charging will shorten the life of a battery but I don't think +/- 3 ah would really be over charging. Its not like the calculation to convert reserve to ah is exact or all batteries are exactly to spec.
My last vehicle was a truck with a towing package which included a high output alternator. That thing went through a battery about every 2 years because I didn't tow and all that extra juice was over charging the battery.

Mine was from canadiantire, everywhere else sold lower spec ones for more. Costco only had some 80AH ones, def not enough for a car with idrive.

Another reason why I bought this besides the powerful specs is the insane 9yrs warranty (4yr full coverage, 5yr % based)

So about 2 weeks since my last post, setting it at 110ah is the right choice. My radio stays on for 30 minutes after the car shuts off. Before, with the oem battery, it would shut off in less than 5 mins (before a full song can finish itself).

Agreed, 110 was right. I had my battery for 3 weeks before making the change. After about 20 minutes of programming I got the yellow battery icon. I've driven it about 70 miles since I made the change and I keep it on a battery tender between drives (the .75 junior model). The battery still isn't fully charged but the car cranks faster than ever, it remembers previous settings better, like if my ass warmers were on. Before if I was listening to an HD radio station it would revert to another station. Basically it wasn't charging that battery nearly to capacity.

I have a laptop setup for coding and a working cable, do u have the DIY steps for changing the battery charging plan? Also is that the same for changing a non-AGM --> AGM???

I'm attaching the DIY guide I found that goes through all of the steps. Yes, it is the same for AGM only you would use 90ah_AGM as opposed to 90ah. Its all laid out in the attached document.

I always heard the way to do it by adding/removing a VO??

I'm curious how batteries are holding up for those who registered their 107 or 108Ah batteries with the 110Ah option.

I recently bought a Bosch with 107Ah and registered it with the 110Ah option since 90Ah is 15.8% undercharged rather than 2.8% overcharged with the 110Ah option.

It doesn't over charge, it's just where the cutoff is placed voltage-wise from bulk to float. The cutoff point is all about temperature in the cells during charging, and BMW is pretty conservative here as pushing acceptance rates too high for lead acid batteries can be dangerous. A couple percentage points is not going to alter the charging profile in any dramatic way so you're fine.

Thank you for this. I have been a little nervous since reading a post about an exploding battery. That person was probably running a lead acid battery on an AGM profile. Or something else entirely off.

Since replacing my battering my car is super quick to start and all of the electronics seem snappier. Now I just need to do a walnut blasting and some other maintanence and things should be good for a while.

How about a 85 buttery configured as 90 is that fine or should I go with 80?
