first impressions of 4 series

had my car in at dealer and had a good look round the 4 series.

Maybe my opinion will change once i see more of them on the road, buts its just not as pretty as the e92, looks less aggressive and more bulky.

Also, I think the idrive screen is a step backwards, looks like an after thought, and the cup holders are bad.

apart from that, it looks ok, but im not blown away by it, little disappointed because I was hoping to fall in love straight away, even though i wont be changing the e92 for quite a while, its always nice to have a "next" car to aspire to.

I do like the 4 series, one of the biggest disappointments for me is the new wheels designs on the new 3 and 4 series, none of them are particular exciting!! Also the exhausts look pretty naff too!

One was behind me last week and my first thought was "that's a nice 3 Series". Then as it got closer realised it was a 4. But to be fair, I really like the new 3 (especially in M-Sport guise) so that's no bad thing.

Given you can get a year old 6 for the same price as a 435d with pretty similar kit levels - I know where my money will end up being spent next time.

Yep i was gonna say that! If i was spending that kind of money on a new car I would rather have an older 640d

I saw one at the dealers few weeks back. It looked rubbish BUT i think it will grow on me with time like most new bmws do. Plus with some mods reckon it will improve

Yep I was thinking it might be a grower, wasn't over keen on the new 3 at first but I like it now .
However ,first time a clapped eyes on an msport e92 with 19"s it was love at first site, I still think it's the best looking main stream coupe in years

Yep! Think they've done it again in terms of designing a car that is ageless...like the e46! Find a clean tidy e46 and it doesnt look like a design nearing 20 years old!!!
