Morortrend car of the year contender: 4 series
http://wot.motortrend.com/1311_2014_..._4_series.html
Good luck but my money is on the S Class. I have been in that car and that interior will influence interiors of the future.

I've been in the new S class, and it rides beautiful. The interior is gorgeous, and I'm not a fan of Mercedes, however, this one to me is a winner. The 4 series looks bloated, and I can't stand the electric steering.

The C7 is a possible contender. Car and Driver recently picked it over the 911S. |

I think you are right that the Vette may take the 2014 COTY trophy. My emotions are with the S class though. If only I had 100,000 to spend on a third car

Pretty much they pick the car that makes the biggest impact that year to its class or automotive world. A game changer at some level. A car that is just great doesn't win. That's why you don't see cars repeated.

These magazine comparisons are just entertainment - sometimes they get it right - often they are way off the mark picking things like the PT Looser and going back a ways - Chevrolet Vega.
The Corvette is a great car at its price point. But I think most of us on this forum would rather have a 911s if we had the money. There are lots of cars out there that will run rings around my 335 but I don't care - the car is exactly what I need for my road trips - comfortable, good handling, good visibility, a nice turn of speed if needed for passing etc. I don't even bother with a radar detector anymore - just drive with the flow of traffic and have fun on totally empty deserted roads. Have you ever noticed that when you get out of the city where the driving is fun - you rarely see performance oriented fun driving cars. I guess the people that own them are too busy working to use them |

I hate the "Corvette is a good car...for the money" caveat. Is its performance which on quite a few metrics and tests has proven to beat cars at any price point not enough? I can afford a 911 and chose the Corvette. I'll buy another Carrera when they make one in a men's version. And when snobs mention how shitty the interior of the Corvette is, they get pissed when I tell them how much nicer the interior is in my Range Rover or S-Class. |

Can't hold a candle in what? Performance? A C6 Z06/ZR1, or C7 will embarrass any naturally aspirated or non-GTx 911 on a track...badly. Remove the base C7 out of the equation and you can include turbo and GT3 911s, too. That's already been proven ad nauseam. Even Porsche guys are tired of hearing about it. Aside from performance...driving feel, build quality, materials, etc.? Sure, Porsche. But, please...let's not turn this into another Corvette vs. 911 thread. My apologies for starting it. |

C7 1.24 911 1.25 I think C7 has more tq, about 100 more and more HP. There is also at least 2l of displacement and 2 cylinders between the two. 911 won this comparo too http://www.edmunds.com/porsche/911/2...ison-test.html Laguna Seca C7 1.38.28 911. 1.39
