SSTT
The car is now really in need of an LSD. As it stands now the stock Bridgestones are no match for the new power. I can’t even imagine what these guys running Procede V2 are going to do without one (LSD).
That’s it, just thought I’d pass it on to those of us who primarily stick to this forum. Last edited by RMRC; 11-07-2007 at 09:55 AM.. Reason: various |

Yeah I agree! The SS TT Worked great for me at CA Speedway. It really makes this car a beast! And best of all...it is darned easy to install/remove!

I uninstalled the TT last night just so I can run my engine in a little more (I’m only at 1,900 miles) before I give it a steady diet of 11psi. I know this may be a very conservative approach but I intend to keep this car for 100k miles (about 4 years of driving for me).
Once removed the difference in power is dramatic. Unlike stock and some other reports, I feel the Turbo Tuned car has a less smooth power band and feels like the transition between relatively low boost levels and max boost is less smooth. With the TT I don’t think the car feels normally aspirated at all but some may disagree. After driving the car stock and going to the TT, midrange punch in lower gears feels STRONG and comes on with a hit – a relatively smooth hit but a hit nonetheless. For example, yesterday while in second gear and going about 25mph in a straight line I gave it a good amount of throttle and once the boost spooled the traction/stability control light (triangle with arrow going around it) was flickering on and off as the rear tires were trying to get traction. This never happened before the TT. I’m addicted to the added punch. In another 1k miles or so I will reinstall the TT but I thought I’d report my slightly different take on the TT power delivery. |

Randy-
I'd love to get together with you some time and drive your car if you're up for it! No hurry though. I'm not doing this before the end of the year. Thanks |

Bartman32 - I may be able to meet up with you once I put the TT back on. If you're in Lake Forest we are just a few miles apart.

I was suppose to get the LSD installed today..but they told me when I got there that a part they need wont be available until Friday...should have told me that before I drove an hour to get there in rush hour traffic. Bas-tards.

I live in West LA but work in Monterey Park. Let me know when you might be available. If I have the chance I will even put in a few drops of 100 for your entertainment...

That was my impression of PROcede 1.47 also. Somehow with V2, Vishnu has made it smoother than stock. More importantly for track use, the skinny pedal is linear. 1/2 means half power, 1/4 means quarter power, etc.
Since I have the valet switch set, I can test both stock and V2 on the same day. The delivery is the same (well V2 holds better up high), but the curve is just shifted up. I rode in a TT car before, it's nothing like V2 and I'm not just talking about raw power. |

I am still not jumping on the boat with the guys with the aggressive chip programs...whenever I had pushed the envelope with past cars it came back to bite me. I am more the SSTT guy...being able to remove it quickly if need be...keeping costs down for other mods..and have a modest amount of power increase. I will let my driving skills and handling set-up keep me busy for awhile. I have never been a drag strip kinda guy..and wont ever be. Seems like the Procede 2.0.2 is more for the drag guys.

S4 - that's where I disagree. FYI, I'm definitely not a drag strip guy. I've gone before just to see how my car does, but it's boring as shit.
The appeal of V2 to me is NOT the radical increase in power. It is the increased power along with the stock-smooth power delivery. From what I've experienced with my ride in a SSTT car, my prior V 1.47 car, an AA car, the V2 provides the best, most linear and most predictable throttle response. With V 1.47 on the track and from what I could tell, with SSTT, the boost onset made corner exits damn difficult. I'd rather tune down V2 and run less power than SSTT (probably set it at 50% or so) just so I can get that linear/predictable power delivery. In fact, I run less than full V2 power on track for safety reasons. |

Interesting...I had no smoothness or power delivery problems with the TT on the track. My car feels very smooth and predictable.

I gotta say..compared to my stage 2 chipped Audi S4..the power of a SSTT car is not 1..2...3...BANG...I could control this just fine at the track. Try driving a chipped Audi some time..

Haha, I rode in a juiced up Evo once.
1500 rpm "Man this car sucks" 2000 rpm "It has no power" 2500 rpm "It's all hype." 3000 rpm "My bicycle has more pickup" 3500 rpm "Let me out already, I can walk faster" 4000 rpm "WHAT THE @#$@#$?!?!" |
