Is this consider LUCKY?

So one of my friend is ready to place an order for a 2014 335i.
His built was

Estoril blue
Driver assist package I
Tech package
Harmon Sound
Premium
M-brakes (blue caliper)
DHP
403m
ETC ETC

TOTAL MSRP 58,200

When he got to the dealer with his specs, his SA has the SAME exact built coming in by the end of the month. He went ahead and put in his deposit.
Even the MSRP was 58,200. And on top of that, it's a German built!

Does dealerships around the area just order a bunch of bmw's with different options and they get to pick which one they want upon delivery?

Some people order and then ultimately cancel.

I told my dealer what I planned to build and he found the exact same car (excluding one feature) on a boat. I had my car in 3.5 weeks instead of the 3.5 months if would have taken for it to be built.

My MSRP was $54,975.

Lucky bustards. Well, f30s have been out for more than year and half. I m guessing the dealers have more clue what their target customers want.

it happens a lot.

theres 3 scenarios....either dealerships will custom build cars for inventory or a customer will order a car and not take it. Or they will locate the car in another dealers inventory and do a swap

Still seems pretty lucky that it was EXACTLY the same build. There are so many combinations of options and colors. Sweet!

^salesmen love that scenario. Not much discount available when they know they have exactly what you want with very little wait.

Just pick it up in Germany, one of the greatest experiences I have had.

All the 3 series in my area comes with heated seats , surprisingly this specific one didn't come with it. Seems like my friend got lucky..... VERY lucky
