F10 LCI - Bluetooth Audio?
Ive been struggling with getting Bluetooth Audio to work on my LCI.
I'm on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7. It didn't work with previous iOS either. I've connected a few phones on other modern cars without any difficulty but for some reason iDrive will not recognize my iPhone as a Bluetooth audio device. I did not purchase Connected Drive (perhaps a mistake but the cost was ridiculous from my perspective). I sure hope that's not the root of my problems as you can get Bluetooth Audio as a standard feature on just about any other car out there! Anyone else have success? Thanks. |

No problems here... at the Welt, our delivery guy paired both my wife and my phone up to the iDrive w/o a problem. Only one at a time can be selected as the connected audio device. Otherwise, no complaints. It kept my wife happy while I was driving on the autobahn.

Yeah no problems on mine either.... Wife and my iPhones both paired at same time both wih audio and phone...
Hit media, external devices, Bluetooth, and then make sure the audio is enabled, not just the phone.

Thanks everyone. I will continue to pursue however I tried deleting and re-trying. Unfortunately the only option that comes up is telephone (not audio). So it may be a device problem. Can any of you confirm you are on iOS 7?

I think the Bluetooth streaming is not available, especially since the audio option is not available. I really hope I'm wrong. However you could try coding. Search the M3 forums for Mike Benvo. Great guy/very knowledge in regard to ///Ms. Good luck!

I have a 2014 LCI with the BMW apps and all that crap. I can connect my phone and check the audio setting in the Bluetooth menu. It'll play the audio for a few minutes and then drop the audio. Plus I can never change the tracks like I can in my 2012 X5. Tried to do a software update using the last 7 of my VIN put the software on a jump drive and then the car tells me it's not the right software. I'm pretty ticked at spending $70K for a car with this kind of problem. All the phone options and Siri work as they're supposed to. |
