Hifi Audio - Existing Hardware Question
Hi everyone,
Got a Hifonics zx4000, jl 500/1, and a 12 inch image dynamics sub sorta lying around. Sold the old car and took those out. Was looking to put them in. New to the configurations in the e92 but from what I can tell I need to go buy me a harness from Technics. From what I read I see a lot of 6 channel amps being used (i.e. JL xd600/6). Would I be able to use my existing hardware (specifically the 2 amps I have) and not lose any speakers in the process? Probably going to DIY a custom corner enclosure in the trunk for my sub, and maybe down the line upgrade the front speakers. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Would this be possible? been doing some reading:
Run 2 channels for the door mids/tweets and 2 for under the seats. Run the rears off the head unit directly use the Jl 500/1 for the sub?

In the Hi Fi unit you have and amp.
In the Hi Fi unit you have and 6 channel oem amp.
Most people remove the existing amp because its not to good. The output of the head unit is 4 channels of low level 5 volt differential pre amp signal. If you want to go that route and don't want to spend any money on new speakers I would think about ignoring the rear speakers and maybe putting the front pre amp signals to the door and the rears to the floors. That would give you a fader to the underseats. Also you need to make sure your amps will work with low level differential inputs or you might need to buy a level adaptor. Thinking the easier Plug and Play route would be to buy myself a JL 600/6...with techics harness and just do a direct swap with the oem amp. Ill sell keep my jl 500/1 and sub for the trunk for a later date. And I'll look to update the speakers in the future...whenever I get some time / funds.
Think that makes a bit more sense.
