Question Warning Low Coolant - NOT A FAULTY SENSOR

Guys,

So I know a few of us, F30 owners have experienced the Low Coolant warning light problem. Being a faulty sensor, or an electrical problem.

However, I got the light last week, but my coolant was actually running LOW.
I took it to the dealer, and they just filled it.

I remember, when I first got my car (with 40 miles on the ODO), the warning light for coolant was on, so they topped it off. Now, its been about 4 months and 7k miles, and I got the light again.

Why is the car consuming coolant? I don't see any leaks on the ground, but I do however, use the AC daily, for a bout 2 hours per day. (long commute/hot weather).

Any ideas? Is this normal? or could this possibly be a more serious problem, like a gasket or seal in the engine?

Thanks!

in my honda civic, my coolant kept on running low after a couple of months. Ended up being a crask in the head gasket and the coolant was being mixed in and burned up by the engine

I have an intermittent coolant warning light on my 2004 3 series sedan. And lately it starts sometimes and doesn't start at other times. Cranks great. Is there some kind of electrical computerized thing that thinks the coolant is low (it's not) and stops the engine from starting? IF so maybe there's a bad sensor?
