IPhone 5 Snap in Adapter

I paid a premium for mine from germany, well worth it in my eyes. shipping was shockingly quick too. I was just tired of having a cable hanging out of the armrest

how often do you forget to grab your phone from the armrest with one of these docks?

what capability does it give you that BT doesn't?

I am using one of these with a short length cord and a cig adapter... goes in the air vent, and is in easy sightline and reach while I run Waze or Trapster ( or any other iPhone app I can safely run).

I forget the phone in the armrest maybe 3-4 times a year.

The key capability it gives you that Bluetooth doesn't is superior sound quality, and BMW Apps compatibility. If you have Bang and Olufsen you want to be running your music from MOG at 320kbps. Bluetooth can't hold a candle to this.

while that is true ( i only listen to spoken podcasts and such on BT).. I just uploaded 20GB of 320kbps songs into my car at the Welt.. took about a 20 minutes and its there... If I need more, Ill put a USB drive in the armrest... way better than taking up space in the iPhone in my estimation.

I have not totally gotten into the habit of pulling the phone from the armrest. It will take time to get used to. At first i would leave the phone in the car every time lol. Stealth is absolutely correct. If u are listening to B&O u need at least 192 Kbps or better, usb or snap in. BT data rate is nowhere near as good.

Sorry. Thought i got my 5 early this year but it was when it was released last sept. i stand corrrected. The 6 will be prob as usual 3rd Q next year

FYI - though I have a super slim cover for my iphone (clear case - back only); i must remove that to use the iphone 5 snap in.

I have the one with the fan and stuff on it.
- not sure one needs that.

Also, although I had the car connected via the snap in; an incoming call was not routed to handsfree. I had bluetooth off.
- Guess i had thought the call would have made it anyway.

You need bluetooth on for that to work.

If your music source is CD or FLAC/ALAC files, you can convert them to lossless wmv which will play. That will maximize you B&O sound enjoyment.

As per conversation with my sales parts contact, BWM NA system show a lot stock in US but shipping of this part to a dealer show a hold waiting for final research, there will be a SB releasing this part to the market

I have one I purchased from kylek13 installed in my '14 M5. works GREAT! Pushes the signal out the outside ant. and contacts via Bluetooth. I just leave that iPhone, a 5s, in the car all the time.
