software update
i just got my car back yesterday. the software update seem to make the idrive/navigation to work better. the bluetooth is a lot better too. i only notice 2 things that the software update change. 1, the name of the staion was on the screen and 2, when hanging up the phone, instead of the screen staying on at communication it goes back to the screen you orignally was using before you had to use the phone. before the update i experience echo while using the phone. i dont know if this software upgrade had something to do with it, or it was just my phone. i use to have the blackberry 7520, now i am using the nextel i870. no echo.

Don't you mean GPS PDA? My cousin had one. Great device. Thanking you in advance of your response. Cheers

No iDrive here -- but I did see an improvement in Bluetooth connectivity with my Motorola Razr V3 -- it connects reliably in the car, whereas pre-software update the connection was hit or miss.

The I-drive nav works better than portable navs because it doesn't black-out in big cities around high-rise buildings. My friend's Garmin was alway losing it's signal driving through downtown Frankfurt to the point that it was useless. Mine never even hickuped.

06 Software Update
Just picked up the Beemer today from the dealer and had the supposed latest updates installed. With it came:
Day-Time Running Lights Auto-Lock 10MPH Doors Also supposedly a Computer emission recall update. All works well. Had them check on a annoying ratling noise comming from the driver side seatbelt anchor. Of course they couldnt "duplicate it"...
