Question Coding ASS disabled and ECO PRO

Can anyone who has coded ASS to completely disable it (not just "last setting") tell me what happens when you put the car in ECO PRO?

When you select Eco Pro, ASS is turned back on. I don't know of any coding that will disable that.

I first coded the ASS to (last state) and had it off (orange key light ON) so the engine will NOT turn off when car stops. When I start the engine, the car goes into comfort by default but if I switched to eco pro the ASS kicks in (orange key light off) and engine turns off when the car stops (at a stop light for example).
Later on I wanted the eco pro to be always the default, so if you think about what I said above, having the ASS to go to (last state) does not make sense, so I reversed that to ASS always off and here is what I got: 1- upon finishing the coding, got an error saying (car traction system destabilized) and traction control light came on, the error disappeared after car off/on cycle. 2- upon starting the car now, it defaults to eco pro mode with ASS off (orange key light ON). 3- If I switch to comfort or sport mode the ASS stays off (orange key light ON) but as soon I return the car to eco pro mode, the ASS goes on (orange key light OFF) and I have to push the Auto button once to disable ASS again if I do not want the engine to stop when the car stop moving.
4- prior to all that, the default reading on the instrument cluster was to whatever it was before the engine was turned off, now after the eco pro mode is the default, the reading on the instrument cluster is defaulted to miles remaining to refuel (range) xxxx miles no matter where you left it before. Hope that answered your question.

I have coded ASS off by default. When car starts, it's off (obviously lol) but if you take it into EcoPro it'll be activated back on for that trip until engine off. Once car starts again, ASS is still off by default.

Hope that provides you some insight

How do I set ASS off by default? Is it difficult? What do I need to accomplish this task?

Cheers

You have to do it via coding.

I would be interested in setting ECO PRO as default mode. How? In other forums it is referring only to ASS via coding.

For the F30, set ICM / 3000 / IcmKod_B_InitEco to verbaut to always start in Eco-Pro mode.

SNARK alert! If you want EcoPro set by default, buy a f*cking 2003 Hyundai Accent or equivalent.

Seriously, I can't drive my 328i in EcoPro. In Comfort mode, I get 35+ mpg on the highway. I gain *maybe* 1 mpg in EcoPro. To me, it ain't worth destroying the character of the vehicle for that.

Hi All,
Interesting to read this thread, I too have coded to default start in EcoPro. Next I plan to code Auto Stop/Start to remain in the last setting. One change at a time strategy.

I do have a question: is there any technical reason for not coding for default start in EcoPro? e.g. could this be bad for the car - does starting in Normal do something initially on starting up that's not doing now in EcoPro, what that something is I don't know!

For those interested....

I've used Carly for the coding.

The reason for starting in EcoPro is that this is what I mostly drive in as it smooths out the Adaptive Cruise Control for a more comfortable experience.

Coding Auto Stop/Start to last setting means I'll mostly have it disabled (orange light on) as I find it annoying the engine stops when I stop to reverse and park the car.

Thanks
