Morel Hybrid's???
I have just upgraded the amp in my Hifi system to the JL Audio HD900. Have added a JL Sub in the trunk. Next up is upgrading those BMW component speakers.
I am really leaning towards the 4" Morel Hybrid's. I can pick them up for a great price from a local car audio shop. Will I be happy with these is my question? I mean, is there another option that I should be looking at? Would it make much of a difference if I try and fit a 5 1/4" component over the 4"? I am not even sure if there are any viable options in the 5 1/4" size given the depth limitations. As always, I appreciate the input. D

Many on here, including myself, use the morel hybrids and love them. Your sound will be powerful yet smooth and mellow. I think the real magic in these are the tweeters and how they play down to 2000hz.

The Morel Hybrids are probably the best 4" component system that will fit into our cars. The only thing better are individual midrange drivers and tweeters from the likes of Dynaudio and Hybrid Audio Technologies, but we're talking at least twice the cost of the Hybrids, plus the cost of an additional amp and a digital sound processor...

Do you use the Morel Speaker covers or leave the BMW ones? I like the look o the Morel grills and thought it would be a nice but subtle upgrade. Alternatively, I have been looking at BMW upgraded speaker grills. Part #5141 8045 695. |

Try top mounting a speaker in an E90 and EVER having a female with longer fingernails try to use the grab handle without catching one on the grille and possibly breaking it.

If the biatch broke my speaker grille with her nails, it would be her last ride in my car.
