Thumbs down Vivid wants every penny they can get out of my pocket!

Well Gents,

You can read the other post dealing with Vivid Racing's antics- now closed. And I screwed myself by posting too early, saying that Randy took care of the problem.

I based that update on an email that Randy sent me stating he'd refund my money. Unfortunately, they sent a check for $162- they still failed to refund the shipping costs and their dumb-assed "Handling Fee." Reference email from Randy below.

From: Randy
Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2007 9:27 PM

Subject: RE: Returned Shifter

Yeah I looked on my website and saw the same thing. I will get the
credit done here for you today so we can get the check cut. Im sorry for
the confusion this has caused and I will do my best to expedite the
process of getting your money back. If you have any questions please
contact me from now on and I will help you out best I can.

Randy

So- for a mistake THEY made, they're charging me $19.

My recommendation is to STAY AWAY FROM VIVID RACING, as they'll screw you as much as possible and add bullshlt charges to your invoice after the fact without warning.

I'm going to email Randy tonight to see what he says. I'll keep you updated on my situation.

If you want further info about this, feel free to PM me.

seriously, stop playing around with them, don't waste your time. Call your credit card company, let them take care of it. Let's see if Vivid want to mess with the CC company, they want to play games? let them play with the CC company.

I've never had personal experience with them, but there's quite a good number of people on evolutionm.net and socalevo.net that had bad experiences with them.

"Vivid wants every penny they can get out of my pocket!"

Aren't you being a tad dramatic over $19? Is that really all you have?

That being said, they should refund the shipping costs since whatever you ordered never went through.

I read the other thread, that sucks. It's not about the $19, or even the $200 for the shift kit. It's the principle behind it. Thanks for sharing your experience, and depending on your schedule, I say just call the CC company and have them refund the $19 to you and report to the BBB. Otherwise call it a day and take it as a lesson learned and fair warning to others. I'll purchase from elsewhere.

I guess you're born rich, why don't you send over 19 bucks to the OP since it's chump change to you?

Reporting to the BBB is a waste of time .. they never get shit handled and Vivid will not care. Call your CC company and request a Charge Back ... if a company gets too many charge backs they will lose their CC machine.

BBB doesn't do anything but their ratings will drop and I personally check out BBB ratings on vendors I'm not familiar with.

that's the thing, it really is about the principle. The order was a mistake as a result of the vendor, ergo absolutely no $$ should be charged to the customer, be it 0.01 or 100, doesn't matter.

and your CC definitely will do something on your behalf. When I purchased from autobarn a few months back, my credit card was charged immediately while the item was never received (after 1 1/2 months). autobarn gave me the run-around, I gave up, called my CC company, they credited me the exact amount immediately, and they took over the matter and dealt with autobarn.

My advice, call your CC ASAP. best of luck

Yeah, I've dealt with them and had a bad experience. My wife ordered a Ralliart Ti shift knob from them for my birthday. Turns out Ti feels a lot like polyurethane. After a few "discussions" with them regarding their typo I got a full refund but, it took me getting a bit belligerent and discussing what the differences between a typo and false advertising were to make it happen.

Apparently typos like that are quite common for them. If you look on their website they currently have the Procede V2 for sale. It happens to be the same price as V1 though.

Read what I wrote again jerkoff. He should get his money back. I was talking about the title of the thread, nothing more.

Gents,

Thanks for the support. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who'd get spun-up over this.

I've heard nothing from Randy after sending him this email...

Randy,

I appreciate you expediting part of the refund. Unfortunately, my wife received a check for $162- that's $19 less than my credit card was charged.

This has to be a simple oversight on your part, as I'm sure you wouldn't intentionally charge me shipping and a "Handling Fee" from Vivid Racing for an error on your website.

Please refund the remaining amount, $19, as soon as possible.

I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you.

Again, tried to be business-like, give him the benefit of the doubt, but nothing.

Looks like it goes to the credit card company.

BTW- yes, $19 is a lot. Ask what $19 means to a parent that can't afford medical insurance for their kids. Hell, ask that to an Afghani that doesn't make $20 U.S. in a month.

With comments like, "is that all you have?," it's no wonder half the world hates us.

WTF is going on in the U.S.?

I'll keep you guys posted.

hey jackass, thanks for the name-calling. Your comment is akin to saying to a grieving widow at a funeral, "hey nice ass, oh and sorry for your loss".

Why did you have to make a unnecessarily smartassy comment when the OP is clearly the victim in this case?

Oh and don't bother replying with a bitchy comeback, this thread is about getting Jonathan his money back, not us bickering.

that was a very nicely-worded email you sent.

Call your CC company, and forward any relevant communication between Vivid and you, and they will take care of the rest.

A penny saved is a penny earned. People don't get rich by throwing money around.

Canucklion,

Thanks for the words. It's nice to get some support from the Bro's when dealing with this kind of crap.

Much appreciated.

Vivid just made some F.S. Volks thread in the last couple of days..I wonder why they haven't reply to this thread.

They're selling a set of wheels that I want, but due to the stuff I've heard about them...I've decided to place an order with a local wheel shop. They price matched Vivid and is local.

Yeah I forgot about this thread and PMd about rims, but recalling that it's the same vendor mentioned in this thread, I moved on.
