BMW w/ OEM Alarm can't open TRUNK with key

Hi Guys-

I purchased my 335i with the oem alarm installed from the previous owner. It's a pretty cool system however I can't open the trunk with the FOB. If I unlock car and manually open it works and also works with button near kick panel.

With remote control if I press and hold for 2-3 seconds. Nothing happens, If I continue to press the panic goes off.. That leads me to believe the button on remote control is good.

I have another bmw and trunk opens fine with key. I'm 100% its not user error.
Any chance it code me a coding issue?

It could be that as well. If you have the coding sheet; see if you could disable the panic alarm in DWAI module and then try again with fob.

Does your car has CA?

It does not have CA. I never use the panic but if I can keep it and fix the problem. It would be nice.

Well I guess should have been more thorough. I meant you could disable the panic alarm then try to unlock via the key fob to see if it works that way incase there was a mishap with original coding. But to get the both working is the objective here. If disabling the panic alarm does not work then enable it back.
