Lock/unlock with driver's door open

I realized the other day that I can use the fob to lock/unlock the doors and roll/unroll the windows even with a door open... as long as that door isn't the driver's door.

It makes sense - if the driver's door is open, you can't lock the car, because then you could open the door, lock the doors, and then toss the key back inside by accident, locking yourself out. If you can only lock the car with the door closed, you never have this problem.

That said, I usually try to lock the car and start rolling the windows up with the fob before I've finished exiting it. That I can't until the door is closed is a bit annoying.

Anyone know how to code this out so the drivers door status behaves like all others re: locking the car with the fob?

I'll be searching on this, as I think I I've read that this can be done for the windows. I'm not quite sure where I read it tho.
