Quick BMW Professional Head Unit Bluetooth Question

I had my original head unit (non idrive) replaced due to an issue with the LCD screen pixels. The shop that put in the new one used a refurbished one, which is fine, but now my Bluetooth doesn't work. When I press the phone button on the steering wheel or radio itself, nothing happens.

Is this most likely a coding issue (can someone explain how that works?) or is it a head unit issue?

I asked this in the Audio/Video section but thought I'd get a faster response here. Thank you!
