USB options - 2008 BMW 335i with bluetooth but no NAV

I've got a 2008 335i coupe

It has Bluebooth but does not have Navigation.

I have an aux input in the center armrest.

I recently had my car in for service and they gave me a new 328i that had a USB drive in the armrest. I could access the USB through the big screen and play music off the USB. It's an awesome feature.

Is it possible to add something like this to my 335i? I would love to add a USB hookup so I can play music off the usb drive and control it all through the OEM stereo.

Currently I get by using an mp3 CD in the CD player or hooking up a mp3 player to the aux port. But I have to control the mps player by hand and it loses charge. The USB option is such a better option.

No interested in any Ipod hookups. I'm not an apple guy. I just want a usb hookup I can control through the radio.

Dension Gateway, Grom Audio or this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660738

Search for details. This has been discussed quite a lot.

Two options other than what technics suggested and both are oem.
1- 6FL retrofit kit for your headunit
2- HU with BT and 6fl built in.

Fuck.

All these options look to be at least $400.00. It really sucks BMW didn't put a USB port in stock. This should be the standard.

I've got an AUX cable already. I've also got a decent mp3 player I just retired from the gym (just picked up a Sony one piece earphone/player combo). I'm just going to spend $20.00 on a charger charger -> USB charge port and plug in the charger and AUX cable to my mp3 player. Wayyyy less hassle.

If you already have Bluetooth maybe you already have module to prove you with the 6Fl option. Take up the flooring in your trunk and see if you have the MULF module in there.. If there is one and it is labelled "high basis svs" you should be good with purchase of a cable and USB port for the armrest . Some coding might be needed.

No MULF in his car as in the USA Bluetooth means TCU.

MULF = 6FL

The link above explains how to add a MULF.

I see. Just thought he might have some hope if that was the case with the MULF as other members have found with theirs.
