Formula 1 Magyar Nagydíj 2013

Formula 1 summer season sucks!! Without Turkish GP, we had a three weeks break with YDT. Then after the Hungarian GP, the Summer break kicks in and literally NO ACTION in F1 nor factory.

Revised tire compounds will be introduced this weekend. Who will that in favor to? RBR?
Now the tires will be constructed symmetrical, teams can rotate to prolong the life of each compound.

+1. So sick of it. You would think they would've figured out how to do this in the first race or two.

E90SLAM, Pretty sure your posted Eastern Time F1 Timetable times need some fixing (appears they're PT).
Agree - It's good to get the F1 circus going again.

Fox used to do the same thing as well. Given FOM requires broadcasters to show several races in local free channels. Fox used to show it in local Fox affiliates, with DELAYED "exclusive". By the time we get to watch it, the race was over for 5 hours.

Now NBC just show live on their other network channels (MSNBC/CNBC). And immediately re-run on NBCSN.

agreed, NBC is a step up from FOX. NBC might switch the channels the race is broadcasted on from race to race but at least they air it live

but if you have a solid internet connection, the best way to watch it is to either stream the BBC or the Sky sports broadcast, miles and miles ahead of the three stooges on NBC

I have NBCSN on my TV but muted for HD quality. But commentating was from SkySports streaming online.

Comparing to Speed where I never had a DVR screw up. I don't care if it is tape delayed or not because I always am since I DVR it.

Quite pointless for me since I always watch live, past two seasons I only missed two races due to travel arrangements.

To me, live is critical. Also, if you set DVR up, knowing the schedule and check local listing. Don't blame the channel. Three out of four races I pointed out in red that MSNBC or CNBC will be showing live instead. If people missed it and solely rely on DVR. I can't help you more.

Anyways, Fox won't be showing delayed on Speed but on Fox local channels as well. Then never bother to replay until the next day.

I'd rather NBC showing on other channels LIVE than stupid delayed broadcast.

I believe this is more applicable to practice and qualifying sessions, to maximize the life of each tire.

So, less tires used in practice and qualifying, more tires available during race for more flexible strategy.

At least that's what I heard from both Steve Matchett and Ted Kravis about directional tires in British GP.

Yes, each driver is limited to a certain sets of tires on a race weekend.

Each driver is allowed to use 11 set of dry compounds (six prime, and five option); and four sets of inters, three sets of wet tires.

http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/ru.../8680/fia.html

Quote:
a) Except under d) below, no driver may use more than eleven sets of dry-weather tyres, six of “prime” specification and five of “option” specification.
b) Except under e) below, no driver may use more than four sets of intermediate tyres and three sets of wet-weather tyres.
That's why on high tire wear and degradation circuits, you don't see much action on Fridays. And minimal running on Q3, to keep a certain sets of fresh rubbers on raceday.
