A Stuck Door....
Did anyone have a problem when the doors are unable to close tight
Mine seem to have stuck from time to time becuz of cold weather? Sometimes after I open the door, get inside and try to close it, the external handle does not seem to return to the original position and hence i cannot close the door properly. i have to pull the handle a couple of times to 'reset' it, then it will close properly.... this is hard to describe, in a nutshell, i can't securely close the door

might need to get service to lubricate the handle's internal workings to open/close easier for the cold weather.
cheers.

Coreslogic I have noticed the same here in Finland that door handles get stuck when it is cold.It pissis me off.I tried to lubricate them with some anti freeze lubricant. It helped as long as I did not wash the car.I think I am going to call BMW about this matter here in Finland.

In extreme cold every wire I think expands a small bit, and in extreme heat shrinks a bit. That I am sure is what is causing your problem. Im sure in early spring or summer things will return to normal. Just think of the things in your freezer @ home. Same principal I suppose.
Just taking a chance here. Dont bash me if I am wrong. |

I had the same exact problem, but only on driver's side doors. I lubricated the "unlatch mechanism" with some sil-glyde on a q-tip. Handles return to position flawlessly. I will post a pic of exactly what I mean later today. It will take you 15 seconds per door...

I'll be gone for the day, so I'll post now.
Instructions: Get a flashlight and locate the door latch on the door. Shine flashlight into area where arrow is pointing and look down in there. Pull door handle from outside and observe a piece of curved metal sliding on a plastic slide. Lubricate lightly. Pull on door handle from outside a few times and it will now return after pulling it to get in. Good luck.
