Need Help in tires selection

have a 335Xi sedan. am planning to change tires just to get a softer ride. and useing the existing rims.. (18" sport pkg)

1. Planning to go for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S from tirerack... any other suggestions..
2. will a higher size fit my rims.
Like 235/40ZR18 instead of 225/40R18 in front
And 265/35ZR18 insteat of 255/35R18 for rear.
I just want a higher size so the rite does not look streched or rounded. Can any one else please give some suggestions? Can i go one more size higher as in 245/40ZR18 in front and 275/40ZR18 at rear?

Please.. am new to tires so let me know if i am doing some thing wrong.

Michelin tires are great. You cannot go wrong by choosing them. Once of the best brands out!

i am not a tire expert but arent those michilens all season tires. if u really want to have the best performance possible i would go with the michelin pilot sport ps2's. they are supposed to be one of the best tires out right now. i have toyo proxes t1r and think that the performace is great.

The Pilot Sport A/S are excellent but they are not available in either 255 or 265/35 18. Your only choices from Tire Rack in 255/35 18 (all seasons) are the Kumho Ecsta ASX, Pirelli PZero Nero M&S, and the Yokohama Advan S.4. Going with 265's adds the Bridgestone Potenza RE960 A/S but the specs say the minimum rim width should be 9". Also, by going up one size from stock the speedometer will read about 0.8 mph slower than actual speed. This may actually be good since it seems that the 335 speedometer reads about 2-3 mph faster than actual speed. So now the speedometer will be less off.

I agree - stay with the same size. You will throw the speedo off by changing the sizes as you suggest.

Thanks a lot for this information..

But if i want a square look and not rounded look on the tires.. should i be increaseing '255' to '265' and '225' to '235' or should i be changeing some thing else..

Does any one have a picture of their tires - where the rims are OEM style 162 18" and a diffrent tire on it..

I think that would be of great help..

And the close match for all seasons are 'Pirelli PZero Nero M&S'.. any suggestions how good these tires are?

Thanks again
