You're probably better than OEM by using the Amsoil. My favourites are Redline 75W90 and Amsoil SVG 75W90 (which is what's in my E90 right now)

I did my diff fluid last week, its a 335 (I cant speak for a 325i), took out little under a quart and filled in almost a quart of Mobil 1 75w-90 ... there's only one bolt to extract and pump back in - I tried sticking my finger in to the bottom and saw some black deposits, oil wasn't that bad but had gone dark, car drives a lot smoother, but I think I lost some mpgs (maybe due to new oil.. dunno)

Thanks for the reply, i was just thinking about opening a new topic on some oil info. I see that you used mobil1 75w90 for the differential, it's the same as the one for the manual gearbox. The guys att the part store said that the mobil1 is waaaay over redline. I am wondering if it's true, i want to change my mt and diff oils next week and i wan't to buy what's best.
And to make the post even longer, i have a kloncking noise att low speed when accelerating coming from the diff i supose, and i read in autodata that the e90's have this common problem and that some bearing needs to be greased to make it shut up. Well my question is if i can open the diff while it's still on the car?
Again thank you in advance
