Just Installed M3 Steering Wheel + DCT Paddle Shifters

I went from a non-sport wheel to the M3 wheel + DCT paddles and I cannot believe how much it improves the driveability of the E90 and helps you regain that loss of oneness with the car when driving an automatic.

I had a fellow BMW owner take my car for a spin and his words, "Between the thick M3 wheel and having the paddles at your finger tips, it made me feel like I was playing Forza". lol

By far one of the most enjoyable mods I've done to a car.

And thanks to Yakev for helping me with the wiring harness which made this install 100% plug and play.

Any pics?

Pics coming...

And I picked up the wiring harness used from the forums for around $60. Yakev made the harness originally and it sounds like he'll be making more of them late summer but I have no idea what he charges new for them. Burger Tuning also sells them for $150....

Paddle shifters make such a huge difference in the fun factor when driving an auto.

Looking forward to seeing the pics!

I'm looking forward to see the pics as well! I wasn't sure if non-sport could switch to the M3 wheel. I want to get the Performance Steering Wheel with the Blue strip.

Do your shifters work in D or only in S?

Nice mod! I had shifters fit in my e90 2006, the sterring wheel and paddles were taken from an 2009 LCI. The shifters do work but only in S mode? Does anyone know why that would be? I was under the impression they would work in any mode!

All help appreciated.

Old software in your car.. I did the same mod to a 2010 E90 and the shifters only worked in S mode but after a trip to the dealer the paddles worked in D as well so I can only assume a software update fixed it.

I see your DSC light is on. I fixed mine by taking the wheels off, taking out the speed sensor and cleaning them. Then I blasted the suspension with a pressure sprayer to clean off off the dirt. Light went out immediately.

Thanks, it was just the TPMS light that I had on since there was a bad sensor in one of the wheels. It's since been fixed :-)
