328i fuel pump problems?
Good morning everybody. I had a weird issue this morning and I wanted to get a feel for whether or not anyone else has had this problem.
Over the winter I noticed that my car would stutter when starting it up in the morning. It lasts about 10 seconds or so and then everything is fine. I looked through the forums and found that it seems somewhat common. It seems to get better when it's warmer and thought it wouldn't be a "problem" now that its spring. For the last week i noticed that it is taking just a little longer than normal to start. It turns over a little more than normal before staring. I went out to take my daughter to school today (a balmy 40 degrees here in Dayton) and it stalled twice. Needless to say I'm a little concerned. I still need to get with my SA on the battery recall, but I wanted to check with everyone here... Has anyone else had this happen with their 328i? I know the 335i's have HPFP issues but I don't recall seeing much about it with the NA cars. Thoughts?

Oddly I have noticed the exact same thing, my car takes more cranks to start up when cold. I have only noticed this issue in the morning. I think it might be battery related since this just started for me last week after getting my alternator replaced. I have not had any stalls so might be something different.

this has happened to me while in the automatic car wash twice car feels like it's going to stall.....I was wondering if it could be the pump as well but it's a 2011 with 33KM on it but I have seen stranger things before

Mine is a 2008 with only 42k miles on it. I wouldn't think it would be a problem, but you never know, I guess...
I started the car again this morning with similar conditions. It didn't stall but it did the thing again where it would run rough for about 10 seconds and then run normal. I'm going to call the SA today. I'll let you know if they say anything.

Just got my car back yesterday and it looks like you hit the nail on the head. Turned out to be the accentric shaft sensor. Good thing it's still CPO. $50 out of my pocket, but $1200 out of BMW's pocket.
