Great start for a Monday ....
I wandered out to the motor this morning and noticed that some fucker has nicked the n/s foglamp on my E46.
Goes back to the leasing company next week - should I bother to get it fixed? Why would some prick do this for a £100 fitting? |

I would have it fixed - lease co will charge you for it anyway, plus they will probably 'load' the cost of the fix to compensate for the hassle etc, so will be cheaper for you to fix prior to the cars' return

I know.
Look what I just ordered: 1x Dummy Dome Camera 1 £8.00 1x A4 CCTV Warning Sign Sticky Back 1 £2.00 Don't know if it will help but worth a go. Its just as well I didn't see them at it otherwise I would probably still be in the cells after beating the crap out of them. |

Not that expensive to get a cheap webcam, point it out of the window and actually do it for real.

I think this is done by a crash repair centre / dodgy vehicle service place. Need a front fog for a E46? Then have a quick drive around and get one.
The problem is that BMW shaft everyone for the parts - I am still waiting for a cost on the foglamp - I am thinking no more than £100 but it really wouldn't surprise me if it was £200 - £300. And as for my baseball bat skills - I figure that you don't have to be Babe Ruth to take out someone crouched down in front of the car ...... |

You might want to try Euro Car Parts, they offer genuine e46 M-Sport fog lights for just over £60 + VAT. Pattern ones (normally made by the same manufacturer with the part number removed) a bit cheaper.
Regards Chris

9 Elms just quoted £70 + fitting. As it came out in 5 mins and just needs a single screw fixing maybe it will come out at £100 after all.
Euro Car Parts is a good site though - very useful if I smash something up that can't be put through on the company credit card. |

Sorry to hear that mate - that really is a pain in the tits. f@cking tea-leaves.
Seems even if it is nailed (well screwed) down, they're still have it if they want it. Long time ago now, and a long story (but i'll cut it short....), but someone broke into my house (whilst I was sleeping) lights & tele still on, and nicked 3 sets of cars keys, moved 2 cars out in the road and nicked the one they wanted. Anyway, Makes sense to get it fixed - as Sheps mentioned, the lease company would probably charge you more to fix it. |
