New 20" 310M wheels

Hi guys.

I have upgraded my Deep Blue Sea M sport 30D with new wheels. Totally happy with the new looks and the new ride quality. Coming from 19" 369M the ride difference is huge. Barely noticeable increase in stiffness but great improvement in sportyness and much more precise steering and feel of the road. Corners are fun again

For the record I have the Variable Dampers. In Normal it feels just a bit harder than with the 19's and in Sport it is SO much better.

Original BMW 310M 20" with the Pireli P Zero Run Flats.

Alloys:
Front alloy wheels: 20x8.5" ET38
Wheel part number: BMW 36116787582
Rear alloy wheels: 20x10" ET51
Wheel part number: BMW 36116787583

Tires:
Front: 245/40R20 99Y XL
Rear: 275/35R20 102Y XL

Could you give some advice as how to best get these 20" 310 M wheels in Norway?

Yep that's mine. Brigth eyes

Sold them to a guy in Kristiansand.

I got them from Germany. I have an agreement with a German dealer. In Norway they are NOK 50K at a dealer, NOK 40K at GS Bildeler. I got them for NOK 30K from Germany including sending and toll.

I can get a set for you as well. Just check finn.no

Thanks, Richard. Not sure if I'm in a position already to change out the 369M for 310M (pending delivery of an used X3 from Bilia this week). They incredibly now offer 5 years "Norwegian" guarantee for their imported cars.

It was hard enough to negotiate with the dealer to secure original 19" 309 for the winter set, as I'm sure you have also noticed, many has the 309 replicas. I find the original BMW 309 far more aggressive looking...

Sorry if I'm going off topic.

Darn, why did I look at this thread? Those wheels look great. I bet they'd be great on Vermillion Red too.

Beautiful combination. Love the wheels with the DSB. Would love to upgrade the wheels on my Space Gray 11 35i M-Sport like you did.

In case you haven't noticed already...

I have also purchased a stainless steel load edge protection. You can see it in the last 2 pictures in this thread.

Check this URL for more info (description in English further Down the page)

the 310's look great on your X3. I would very much like your feedback on ride, comfort, steering feel and any other issues you've encountered in the ~1y since you purchased.

Thanks!

Thanks!
Iīm still 110% happy with them. In the beginning I was afraid of curbing them, but the tyre is protecting the edges just enough. After 1 year, still without scratches and dents.

The ride quality is so much better than the old 19" I had, and of course the 17" winter setup. You obviously need to love sporty setup. I have the variable damper control and when running in Normal, it feels quite comfortable. Just a tad stiffer than the old 19". Runs through humps quite ok. Gravel is no contest and is good fun.

In Sport mode the wheels are outstanding. The sound and contact with the road is very good and the ride is huge fun. Cornering is sweet with very good grip even in higher speeds. I normally cruise in sport mode, but quickly use normal when I see speed bumps or bad roads. And of course when wifey is in the car
Doing acceleration it feels that the car is a little quicker than with the old 19"s but Iīm sure thatīs just my imagination but the feeling is good.

They still look good to the eye, but I wish they were an inch wider. But hey, thatīs just me. 6 eyes on the dice from me still

I am, however, thinking of mounting some spacers to get the little extra from them but have not decided yet...

Thanks for the feedback! While I'm sure DHP would help soften the ride on the 310Ms, I do live in an area with poorly surfaced roads and twice have had issues with bubbles on low profile tires (PS2s, which I loved). As such, I am a bit concerned that I might end up in a similar situation on 20s, so I decided to stick with the staggered 19"s. Thanks again.

I have been through a few potholes with these. Huge noise but no marks on the rims. Maybe the reinforced sides on the run flats saved them?
