Folding Mirrors Coding - HELP!!

Hi Guys,
I tried coding for the mirrors to fold when I press the lock button on the Fob and open when I press the unlock button however it will not work. I followed the steps laid out in the coding thread but still wont work. Can someone send me the coding information for that so I can verify again.

Thanks

Did you try holding down the lock button for a few seconds?

Yea tried that...also tried pressing it twice..nothing works...weird. I coded a whole lot of other stuff and everything works but this...frustrating.

Do you have comfort access? Which option did you code? I'm sure you know it's different whether you have comfort or not.

Can cars with no comfort access be coded to have folding mirror?

I have CA. What is the difference in coding? I didn't know if it was different. What is the code for cars with CA?

Cars without comfort access definitely can be coded to fold the mirrors with the fob; I've done that to at least 4 other cars.

Do you have the electric folding mirrors? Some regions don't. You have to have the button on the driver door that you press to fold the mirrors electrically from inside. Without that, you probably don't have the necessary motors to fold the mirrors.

If you can fold the mirrors with the button, then re-check your coding.

Things to check:

1. A common mistake is to manually change the werte value when you change KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB to aktiv. Don't do it, just change the parameter to aktiv! This is one coding value that the werte value is opposite normal; aktiv is werte=00, nicht_aktiv is werte=01. If you also set it to 01, you reversed your change.

2. Another common mistake is to change KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB instead of KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB.

3. You changed all 3 variables, right? Did you set ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG and ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG to aktiv (werte=01) too?

There is no difference in coding, just that with CA, you don't need to change KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA as it should already be set to aktiv.

For non-CA cars, KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA will be nicht_ativ and setting it to aktiv won't do anything because there is no CA.

Thanks will double check everything. I believe I might have changed the Werte value...thanks for your help.

I do have the button so definitely should be able to code this.

Once again thanks for your help.

So there is a difference?

FEM_BODY => KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB = aktiv is Fob
FEM_BODY => KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA = aktiv is Comfort Access

Both require

FEM_BODY => ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv
FEM_BODY => ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv

Right.

The difference is that KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA on a non-CA car defaults to nicht_aktiv and a car with CA defaults to aktiv, so there's no need to code this value in either case.

Setting KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA to aktiv on a non-CA car won't hurt, but it also won't do anything because the car doesn't have the CA hardware.

So I have comfort access and coded both the following
FEM_BODY => ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv
FEM_BODY => ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN = aktiv

I also verified the following are set
FEM_BODY => KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB = aktiv is Fob
FEM_BODY => KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA = aktiv is Comfort Access

However I still don't see the mirrors folding wit the keyfob or comfort access, even when I hold down buttons for several seconds. I have also seen where you may have to wait up to an hour so I waited for several, but no go so far

any ideas?

Folding mirrors with key fob

Can someone please help me. I would like to set the mirrors so that they fold-in when the car is locked and unfold when unlocked using the key fob. I have a 2014 BMW 435i (F33) which has electric folding mirrors with a push button switch on the door. The car does not have Comfort Access. Two BMW dealers tell me it can't be done (but that maybe because it's easier to say that rather than actually do it). Three independent BMW specialists say it can be done (but none are able to do it cos they haven't got the latest software for their electronic OBD device). Looking at forums like this, some seem to suggest you can't, others say it needs CA, some appear to say it doesn't matter whether of not it has CA and a YouTube video apparently shows it working.

So, can someone please give me a definitive answer - No it can't be done or Yes it can be done. If it can, precisely what is required to do it.

Thanks

You should be able to code it if you have the folding mirror button on the door.
Try these settings:

FEM_BODY 3053 KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB aktiv from nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY 3053 KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_PA aktiv >default=aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3053 / KOMFORTOEFFNUNG_FB from nicht_aktiv to aktiv
FEM_BODY / 3053 /KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN werte from 0F (15x100ms) to 00.

FEM_BODY 3110 ASP_BEIKLAPPEN_BEI_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN aktiv from nicht_aktiv
FEM_BODY 3110 ASP_GESCHWINDIGKEIT_AUTO_AUSKLAPPEN 14 (20km/h)>default 28 (40km/h) Changes the speed at which the side mirrors will auto-unfold. (Value in HEX
FEM_BODY 3110 ASP_MAX_GESCHWINDIGKEIT_BEIKLAPPEN FF (255km)>default 14 (20km/h) Max speed the mirrors will fold. (Value in HEX)

FEM_BODY / 3110 / ASP_AUSKLAPPEN_NACH_KOMFORTSCHLIESSEN from nicht_aktiv to aktiv

Coding mirrors and roof with Carly and other stuff

Hi, I've just got a 2016 420d M Sport to replace the 2012 118d M Sport and whilst I love the new car I've discovered a couple of annoying things.

1. Neither car had comfort access but the 118d would fold in the mirrors and close the windows with the key fob, 420d only opens the Windows. ??

2. Both cars have auto dimming mirrors but where the 118d had both passenger and driver side dimming, the 420d only has driver. Why????

I have bought Carly app and adapter as I'm a newbie to coding and want to know if anyone has had success in getting the mirrors and Windows to fold and close on the key.

Thanks in advance ??

Did you code KOMFORTSCHLIESSUNG_FB to aktiv?

That enabled folding the mirrors via the fob.
