F30 - One of the best things...
"No or very little brake dust." I owned it 2 weeks before washing it and the wheels were amazingly clean. It feels odd to drive a BMW and not see the front wheels black after 5 minutes driving. One of the first things my wife asked me when I purchased the F30 was: "Will our new car wheels get dirty, the way the old car did?" I am happy to report the answer to that question is an astounding "NO!".

I'm going to buy the MPerf Brake kit and look for a low-dust pad.

this stuff works well. i spray on about once mid week and it restores everything to like 90 percent to the naked eye. only spray on, no scrub cleaner that actually works. spray on, its green. turns red when it reacts with brake dust and then u just spray off. takes about 10 mins and is perfect to get you thru to next actual wash.

Same thing happened to me. I prefer the dust to giving up braking confidence.

I may have dreamed it, but arent the msport 328 brakes the same size as the non msport 335 brakes? With the msport 335's having the biggest brakes and the non msport 328 the smallest?

I doubt it, i was at the dealer Friday staring at a 335 msport and a 328 Sportline and the brakes looked smaller on the 328. The 335 did have the 19s which make any rotors look small.

Brake size comparison (if I remember right) 328 < 328 M sport = 335 < 335 M sport M Sports have the largest brakes of their model (328 or 335), but 335 regular brakes are the same size as 328 M sports. Edit found this: 328i front brakes: 12.3" / rear - 11.8". 328i M sport brakes - front: 13.4" / rear: 13.6" 335i front brakes: 13.4" 335i M sport brakes - front: 14.6" front / rear: 13.6" rear Last edited by tdizzle; 03-26-2013 at 03:35 PM.. |

I find the brakes on my sport line to be very low dust and they stop on a dime. Of course the Msport package has upgraded brakes along with other goodies but BMW brakes are well above standard for everyday driving and then some. For me the brake dust looks like ass and accumulates way to quickly. Over time I have found that if you do not get that brake dust off in a timely manner, your wheels get damaged from the corrosive nature of the dust compounds. Whatever works for ya is best.
