When will my car arrive?

I have been told that my build is scheduled for the end of next week and that delivery will be on for the following Friday.

Do you think that this timetable is likely?

I do now have a production number - is there anyway to check this further?

I maybe on for UK4 after all ........

Generally I thought it was around two weeks between production and delivery to your dealer.

If it works out at one week then that would be great! My view is that this timetable is unlikely. I don't think there is a way of tracking your car either which is rubbish...

Fingers crossed that you can make UK4

I agree - in my experience the car sits in the dealers yard for a week while they wonder what to do with it.

How do BMW ship the cars - I imagine that they go to a central point and are then distributed to the dealers by transporter. Hard to see how this is going to happen in 1 week

I think from Germany they initially transport the cars on trains to the port and then ship them across on the ferry / channel tunnel to the UK port and then transported by lorry from there

Then your dealer will tell you that there's a backlog at Thorne or wherever and your car will be a week late

Or at least that happened in my case, still a week is only a week and it'll be worth the wait.

My current car is being picked up on the 21st so I will be truly f*cked if the new one is late.

Those muppets on the underground will also probably be on strike again as well just to add to my total misery.

Hey

Got mine E92 build this week (week 36) and dealer is expected it for 30/09, so can not see how it can only be a week.

Saying that, it might take longer to get them delivered up North though

Hope it works for you

ive been told NOVEMBER!!

hi,
i recently changed from 318d to the 320d msport in black with lemon dakota, and due to me wanting the new performance/efficient dynamics, my dealer said they would expect delivery in week 45!! thats 5th Nov onwards!!

he did say that this date could possibly be brought forward, but did not give an approximation. ive been waiting since july now! and now im told nov..
do you think thats right?
or am expecting this sooner?
the order was still at a spec changeable on the 4th, when i requested the change to the 320d, so anyone know what i should expect??

Manish

mine is week 38 build

I have been advised by my bmw dealer mine is very likely to arrive for a sept delivery. It seems bmw uk have some priority system that is attemting to get all sold stock to dealers PDQ so they can post xxxx sold and registerd vechicles from sept ,so anything thats stock or unsold can sit on the docks it seems that they are pulling all the stops out this sept

I just got my new receipt emailed to me, and the estimated delivery is now 28/sept/07
which is brilliant news!
i have a question though...

i have ordered the new 320d with EfficientDynamics, and wanted to know if the vehicle code is different from the existing 320d (with 163hp).
my 318d had a vehicle code of Z3SH and my new 320d has a vehicle code
Z3TS.
can someone confirm this for me?
thanks
Manish
