2007 E92 6-M/T Stock scaling and weight distribution.

Hey i was not sure where to put this video. I borrowed some Longacre Scaling pads from my families racing team and put the BMW on the scales to log some total and weight distribution percentages. I wanted to share something i just did for fun not really looking to track this car just more for informational purposes. I do want to note that this car feels very solid and drives beautifully from the factory. I have never pushed a corner on the streets but its very comfortable and stable and predictable if you ever needed to make a sudden maneuver. I also want to note that my car is completely stock down to the floormats. It is a non-sport package. I reiterate alot of this in the video description. This was done with 2 gallons or less of gas. I also wanted to note that this car is listed as 3351 curb weight. Watch the video and you can see i am no where near that. IDK why??

Curb weight is measured with a full tank of gas and a driver in car. I assume NEITHER was in car during the weigh-in?

Not possible that it weighs 31xx. The scales must have been having a problem or setup incorrectly, or the car has very significant weight reduction.

I have lightweight wheels & tires, lightweight exhaust (single 3.5"), lightweight brakes (stoptech 355mm) and a carbon fiber trunk lid for weight reduction items, and my car weighed 3450lbs when weighed on the longacre corner-weighting scales at Vorshlag. Production differences don't account for 300+lbs.

i never knew that the curb weight was with a driver. I did know it was with full fluids. Thank you for that information. That would explain it.

Just did a quick search and Wikipedia states the Euro curb weight is calculated with a 75 kg driver. I will double check today to make sure the scales are working properly.

Also i had ~ 2 gallons of gas and no driver. You can see in the video i step on the scale and the weight increases by 150 lbs as thats how much i weigh.

As a side note i have dynoed my car and made 197whp/175wtq SAE corrected and ran a 9.285 @ 75.7mph with a 2.18 60ft time in the 1/8th mile. Maybe that can justify the power to weight ratio.

IDK what to tell you. Dont you have a 335i? Im sure you have quite a bit more weight than the 328i. Also was that 3450 lbs with or without driver? Fluid levels?
