100RON Fuel

Anyone tried United's P100 in their 328i yet? It contains 10% Ethanol, the maximum BMW allow/suggest for the N20 engine.

Forget it. The Ethanol is not recommended by BMW.

91RON to 98RON, with 95RON recommended for best economy, BUT all official BMW performance figures are published with the use of 98RON.

I use 98RON, Shell V-Power.

That would be BP 98. There isn't a 97.

ive used the United 100RON before. I was able to get more KM's out of one tank and feel a very slight power gain. I dont use it all the time as i read using the additive fuels like E85 and 10% ethanol, you should change your oil more frequent and my car has the free scheduled servicing

Although BMW don't like it, we can use up to 10% Ethanol in our fuel. Interesting you were able to get more kms out of a tankful as it lowers distance travelled compared to unleaded petroleum fuel.

One guy over at Whirlpool forum claims his 5 series had improved power & torque with United's P100.

I used Shell's 100RON (98RON + 10% Ethanol) in my 325 a few years back and performance was much worse than with 98RON.

Just thought perhaps matters may be different with the turbo car. I've decided to stick to V-Power.

Cheers

Isn't United like a "no name" fuel hence the cheaper price?

I've always used 98RON in all our BMW's and Mini's...........I don't like to take chances with cheaper lower octane fuels. I see it as an "engine insurance policy".
