Worried about EB color choice!
Hi all,
I realize color is very subjective, but after having my heart set on EB Msport (picking it up in Munich in about 3 weeks) I am starting to have second thoughts. It has been a while since I've seen the car in person both at the dealer and the LA auto show and I thought it looked great. But, now that it has come down to the wire (car should enter production within a few days) I am a little worried about it being too bright/flashy/racer boy. I also have been keeping my eyes out for "flashy" blue cars on the road and keep focusing on all the subarus, fords, beater pickup trucks, etc. I am not afraid to stand out... I'm 24, currently drive an imola red ZHP and like blue but am second guessing myself on this. I realize this thread is a bit pointless but I need some reassurance here guys!! |

It's not Racerboyish. The way the paint looks in the sun is beautiful and classy. I got a ton of compliments on it (by adults) on my old M Coupe.
You're probably just over-thinking the issue. Seriously. |

It's the nicest color for an f30 m sport. You will be so happy when you take delivery. Pictures do not do it justice.

Came to my car in the Target parking lot and had a small crowd of 3 dudes gawking at it and told me that it looked amazing and noted how cool it was that it was a stick lol.
EB2 seals the deal.

It's terrible. Don't get it. It's much worse in real life. Too much purple going on there.
It's excessively flashy and people always make snarky comments about it. None of my friends like it. My wifes best friends' cousin made a negative comment about it once. And a co-worker's neighbor also seemed indifferent to it. Almost like he would have preferred if I drove a white or silver car. You know that look? |

I have an EB2 335 ix. It is simply an absolutely gorgeous colour. It looks different in various lighting situations. It takes a very deep shine when waxed. I am 62 years old and have had many cars and colours over my lifetime. This is the best yet!
You will not be disappointed. I get comments everytime I am parked and thumbs up from people everywhere. |

I feel the color is fantastic in real life ignore the online pictures. It goes really well in terms of contrast when accompanied with M Sports and M Performance parts

EBII is the way to go. By far it's the best looking color BMW has right now for the 3 series. Changes color based on the weather of the day. You did not go wrong.
Funny how I constantly get compliments ONLY on the color of my car. |

Definitely less attention grabbing than the Imola Red. It's a great color, I would not worry too much. Although for me personally, the EB II just isn't blue enough. I would much rather prefer Interlagos Blue.

I sport a pair of purple Cole Haan wingtips because I love them, my fiancé loves them and I don't care what anyone thinks. The point is, get what you want regardless of what people think! |

This video is of my old 99 Clown Shoe with Estoril Blue. Notice how amazing the blue is in the sun, and how it sort of changes colors.

Some people love it the first time they see it. That's my test. When you see it in person, what's your reaction? For the people who loved it, they should get it. I agree that it looks outstanding in certain light. I got alpine white, but I "settled" for it, because there's no one colour I love. I guess my thought process was that AW is pretty much the same all the time. EBII changes, and although I love how it looks sometimes, I don't like how it looks other times. So I guess I chose to save the $800, avoid the highs and lows, and cut it straight down the middle. It's frustrating really. Black, Grey, Grey, Red, Blue, White, Brown, and oh yeah, $2300 plus another $800 for light blue. Sweet... At the end of the day, you're going to get the car and love it. If the colour is really that big an issue, you're 24..won't your parents just buy you another one? Last edited by jtuds; 02-22-2013 at 08:19 AM.. |

I'm going to be the voice of dissent here and say that I don't care much for EB2. It's a nice color no doubt about it but I do think it's boy-racerish. But you're 24 so that's cool. When I was 22 I had a blue Ford and that was nice. This time I'm looking for something more mature and family-friendly and this is not going to be EB2...
