I used dental floss in warm weather on my WRX and both Evos and never left a scratch. Just take your time. Good luck.

I watched the dealer 'debadge' my 320d last year. He just had a piece of stiff plastic card (it was the plastic tag which is attached to the new key ) and he literally prized the four letter/digits off the boot lid. It left a glue residue which was cleaned when the key was PDI'd.

When I got my E60 last year they had forgotten to include the de-badge on the order, so the car arrived with badges.

As the car came from Ipswich (I live near Bedford) I took it to the Milton Keynes dealer and they took it off FOC while I waited.

Not sure how new your car is but I would ring the loca dealer and see if they'll do it for you - I expect they've done hundreds and less likely to make a mistake!

I did mine at the weekend, warmed the numbers up with a hair dryer, then dental floss to pull them off. and as Roofer said spirit to remove glue.

Would be funny to re-badge a 335 to a 320 and then watch people get a shock when they get blown - after assuming you are driving a 320 with boy-racer exhausts.

my mate did that a few years back with a 325, stuck 318 badge on it

another mate thought it would be funny driving around with ''L'' plates on

was funny, cuz how woudl you feel, if you were ''overtaken'' by a fast learner HAHA

The 'L' plate idea is dodgy though as you legally cant go over 45mph.

My mate had a chipped 325tds (175bhp) and put a 318tds (90bhp) badge on it. Quite a few people got smoked!!
He did it because he worked for his father's business and he did not want the other workers thinking he was driving a 'fancy' car.

I saw an A4 the other day with all the RS4 kit on it (wheels, thin exhausts, bodykit, chrome mirrors, RS4 badge)
How did I know that it was not a proper RS4 - I hear you ask????

He did not think to remove the 1.9TDI badge from the other side
And also its backend was pure black with soot.

Very funny.

I was behind a genuine M3 t'other day that the guy had put a 318ci badge on, now i can understand that for a minute in the pub the idea of doing this might be funny when you catch out the odd chancer just wanting to put one over on a 318Ci owner and seeing the look on their face as you just blow them into the weeds but could you really be bothered?

I've never debadged any of my BMW's, got nothing against it, just can't see the point. ok maybe it makes the backend look "cleaner" but when i had my 318Ci years ago everyone said i should debage it to hide the fact it was *only* the 318...i didn't like that sod em i thought i worked hard to buy this and am not ashamed of it :rocks: plus most non-bmw fans i know still (even today) see the 330 on my E92 and say "what engine is that?" and they asked the same of the 318 so go figure.

I've always used the hammer and chisel method, looks ok and the badge comes off easily enough
