Hi can anyone tell me how to setup Google Maps on my Nexus tablet so I can send destinations to my F30's Nav? I don't see any 'Send to Car' option on the app when I select a destination.

I think the problem may be that I don't have Google Maps on this tablet setup with my BMW Assist login, but not sure how to do this. I can do it from my iPhone but not sure how to do it from the tablet.

It's on the BMW remote app under tools there's a google search option

As the comercial show it was posible to send the directions directly from google maps, now that option has been remove and you have to do it from the BMW app

The option is still available on Google Maps. If you can navigate to maps.google.com, look up an address, then click on "more", click on "send", click on "car", select "BMW" and enter your BMW assist acct name, then hit "Send".

When I looked up that hotel in PR, it also won't allow me to send to my car. But it works for several US addresses that I tried.

So it cloud be something with the maps in PR. But I did have the option a few weeks back. Still I used the Remote app.

I dont know about the Nexus tablet, but I couldnt get this to work on my android phone from the google/google maps website (even with it set to display the desktop version.

I had to install an app called "Send to Car" to get it to work (just found it the other day and it works great). Just type the address into google maps, click the menu button--> share --> sent to car

+1 for "Send to Car." It enables the same functionality on maps.google.com (you can't use the "mobile" one either, you need to use the desktop version) on the Maps app. Works great on my Galaxy S2.

I recognize you are asking about Android... Using an iPad I have not been able to send Google Map data to the car either, even when using the desktop version of the website. The "chain link" does not show up. That being said I have been able to see the command and send map data to the car using an actual desktop computer without a problem. Also I have no problem with map data being sent from the BMW app (for me the easiest way).

It seems that for some the send to car option does not show if you try to send from a saved location or map in My Places. What you should try is search for an address in google maps search window, like BMW South Atlanta, then clic on the actual address that is suggested, then clic on the chain/link option next to printer icon and clic send and you should see car.

Have you tried using Google Chrome (instead of Safari) on your iPad?

Thank you! Figured it out a couple of days ago too. That seems like a strange thing for Google to miss, doesn't it? Considering we're trying to sync our saved places too our cars lol.

Strange. I installed Chrome onto my iPad but I couldn't find send-to-car anywhere in Google maps.

Maybe working in USA only?

It works fine from any PC and BMW Remote (on both iPhone and iPad) however so it doesn't really matter.

I was able to get it to work. Select the link icon on Google Maps and then select "Send". A box will pop up and give you the option to send it to phone, email, car, etc. Choose car and then BMW from the drop down. You will need to put the email address associated with your BMW Assist account to get it to work.

Yep, ever since the new version of Google Maps rolled out on browser and my Android phone, I can no longer send address to car. I have the app Send to Car on my HTC One (JB 4.1.1), and it says address has been sent, but I lost access to the Messages menu in iDrive. I used to be able to use the Send to Car app and view Messages - that was a really convenient feature. I even tried updating MyAssist, and it said update was successful, but nothing.

So, two problems here:
1) How can I view the messages (addresses) I send to the car?
2) Has anyone been able to successfully send address to their car with the new Google Maps and/or Send to Car app?

I send to car all the time using the bmw remote app for iOS. Go to main menu, connected drive, messages, then wait for refresh to see google send to car message. It's pretty weird that when I select it, sometimes it'll hover over a grayed out option instead of defaulting to the nav option...somewhat distracting to rotate to nav mode then smash button, then smash again to start guidance.
