335xi M sport suspension options

I recently took delivery of my 2013 335xi without the dynamic handling option. Come to read find out after fact that all awd come with softer suspension and not lowered the xtra 10mm as the Rwd counterparts. No biggie. But driving it it feels very powerful but handling even in sport mode seems softer than I would expect from this car. And I have owned many BMW's and M cars. So I saw that HR has a suspension set up with either just springs or coil over spring set up. And now BMW offers their own M performance set up as well in the recent update. What I would like to know is has anyone done either setup and are they only for the Rwd cars or as well for the xi awd cars? Also is the ride harsher. Bumpier. Does the car bottom out at all now?? I am not looking to track the car at all but like driving aggressively and like a tight handling slightly firmer setup. But not bone jarring. Also how much does it lower the front, rear suspension?

Also if I change the suspension to either one will it effect the sport sport plus Eco button in the car in a non dynamic handling option car?

Thanks guys. Happy New Years.

I did the M Perf setup, but I own a RWD 335i.

It's a 20mm drop, real subtle.

Handling is amazing compared to stock, about 20% less firm than an M, and if you've driven an Mitsu Evo, about 25% less form than that. Very daily drive able (my wife hasn't even noticed).

The car is more planted and stable, has much more manageable understeer, and is sharper than the base suspension (by a 2-fold margin...the kit was designed with M engineers so I think they got it close to what is acceptable outside of an M car).

Cons: you'll notice road imperfections more.

If your car is in Sport Package, your suspension would be a M Sport suspension, you just need to change springs and shocks only.

X drive has no Sport Suspension available. Same issue on the E90 and it never changed.

Well it did get better though. You can at least get the adaptive dampers. Handling on an xdrive f30 with DHP in sport mode is a big step up from an E90 xdrive. I'm really enjoying it.

In the UK:
M Sport Suspension is available with x-drive - 10mm lower
M Sport Adaptive Suspension is available with x-drive - 10mm lower
So it seems from the configurator.

Online configuration is incorrect apparently...

True the website configurate, well at least for the BMW North America site Is wrong. Once you add the awd option it deletes the suspension. I know sucks for us. Does anyone know then if you can add the HR suspension setup to an xi car? Or none at all?

Thanks guys

You have to read the official BMW ordering guide to find out what is really on the cars. The web sites often have errors and aren't "official."

According to BMW's 2013 US ordering guide Sport and M Sport cars don't include the sport suspension (item 704) on xDrive cars. I can't guarantee the UK is the same since I haven't read their ordering guide but I'm 99% sure it's the same deal.

WOW. the US online configurator still lets you do this...so many xDrive owners will be annoyed for not checking off the DHP in lieu of the lack of a sport suspension (though they aren't equal substitutes).

Maybe HR will make springs in the future..? Current springs don't work though (I believe).

Yes you can get springs from H&R and others for the xi. It took a while for it to come out for the E90 but I expect teh F30 will be faster.

It does stiffen up the ride though so there is a trade off.
