Optimal video size/settings for iDrive playback?

Does anyone know what the optimal video settings are for playback to iDrive via iPhone/cradle? i.e., video size, screen ratio, bitrate, format, etc? I'd like for my videos to appear as close to full screen as possible, but all of my videos appear with black areas around the video. Any suggestions welcomed.
