Question

Hello all, was hoping for just some words on what to tell my best friend. He has a 11' 335 montego blue (nicely modded) with 8k miles. But wants to trade for a 13' Nissan 370z. New 0 miles. I told him that's I didn't think it was a good idea, but its his car. But he was wondering what he should do. So I said I would find out. Lol. (My home for answers e90) lol.

Thank you in advance

Unless he wants a track rat (and even then there are better choices for the money), hell no. If he wants something smaller, more fun, and more tossable, steer him to a 135i, Z4 35i, or even a 1M. BRZ wouldn't be a bad choice either if you could live with less power and/or budget for a forced induction kit that's surely not far off. Loved that car when I drove it.

Tell him instead of 'nice car', people will be saying 'so you couldn't afford a BMW?

Your friend should decide what kind of car he drives. Unless he is on welfare. Then I get a say and I say he should get a Ferrari FF.

Notice that this post makes no sense. Much like this whole thread.

No way, I would definitely not trade a 335i for a 370z and his 335i is practically brand new as well. 335i is a more refined machine overall and carries luxury options that can't be found driving a 370z. Plus a 335i is more practical as it can fit 4-5 people with a decent amount of trunk space.

Performance-wise they are about the same but the 335i Turbo engine is a lot easier to mod that the 3.7L on the Nissan. I can understand if he wanted to trade a 328i, but definitely not a 335i. The BMW is superior is every way.

Im actually doint the reverse, moving from the Z to the 335i. Ive driven 3 different Z models, 350z Touring, 370z W/ Sprts Psckage and the Nismo 370z, they all are fun to drive but for the 335i offers more.

What reasons did he have for switching?

Also, im not certain on the depreciation of 11' 335i, but he could end up being "upside down" in his loan if he has one.
