Creasing on leather seats?

Hi there, I've noticed on my leather seats of my 09 e92, mainly driver's but seems like passenger is starting too, there's been creasing on the leather seats. Is this normal for leather, since on our e90 with leatherette this doesn't happen and its older than my e92. Is there any way to treat it or to prevent it from getting any worse? Thanks

There is nothing you can do about, it doesn't really bother me, It just the nature of leather.

I'm 5' 8" and 150 lbs. If I lost any more weight I'd waste away!

You can have your leather seats restored, but that ain't cheap.

regular leather conditioning will help a ton. i usually keep a pack of leather wipes in the trunk, and every time i vacuum i will wipe down the seats.

mequires seems to work well. i also find lexol leather condition excellent.

back in my skiing days, i would triple my leather glove life by using lexol on a regular basis. i was a ski bum, and had 8 yrs of 100+ day ski seasons. same with my motorcycle gloves and gear. keeping leather supple is key.

It's really inevitable even if you take really good care of the seats. But definitely clean the leather often and then moisturize it also.

+1. I've had good results with Zymol Treat leather conditioner.

If you don't treat your leather seats with leather conditioner on a regular basis this will happen, but if you treat your seats with the proper oils it will keep them supple and much less inclined to dry out and crack. Lexol works wonders! You should use it at least twice a month.

My suggestion would be to treat your seats with the Leatherique 2 part system. I've tried them all and it's by far the best.

Wiper your leather with a generous amount of Leatherique Rejuvenator. Let it sit for a while preferably in the hot sun for 24 hours. Then wipe off with the Leatherique Pristine Clean.

Mine stretched even more on the driver's seat cushion.

I took it to a highly recommended auto upholstery shop and talked to an expert about it. He told me it has nothing to do with conditioning the leather, which I do regularly. He says it is caused by certain pieces of leather stretching more than others because they come from different parts of the animal. He said he could fix it by opening the seams and pulling up the slack.

Thats what leather does. I have red too and love it. Lexol stuff is great for brightening it up but nothing will stop the problem you are having. Its just stretching. Conditioners will bring the color out a bit but won't condition the leather as its sealed.

in my previous 335i, i used all products under the sun, the oem bmw stuff, lexol, meguiars, and they all ended up like the picture above. I had the terra dakota interior so you could tell from 10 feet away what imperfections it had. I never used the leatherique stuff though.

recently i started researching this topic because I have black seats and I hate the look of the black seats when they are shiny/oily. I read on a few forums and on here that some people just use three microfiber cloths (two damp and one dry) and distilled water with a tiny drop of mild detergent. once you wipe down with damp + detergent, follow up with dry. then hit it again with a just a damp cloth and again with dry.

Works like a charm. The seats already are made with the necessary oils in the leather, there is no need to add more to it every car wash. The more you use oil based or creme based leather cleaner/conditioner the more soft the seats will get and the more they will stretch. creasing is inevitable.

The seats are SEALED. The conditioner is not reaching the leather. Put some water on your seat..does it soak in? No. Conditioner keeps color layer soft.
