I'm about to drop $4K on the extended warranty (3 more years/ 140K total). I am able to expense it through work so cost aside, has anyone had good or bad experiences with the extended warranty through BMW? Terms are $200 per visit (not per item) deductible. It is transferable if sold privately (which it eventually will be). It seems pretty inclusive (The Ultimate Coverage Plan) and seems to only exclude wear and tear items not normally expected to be covered.
Anyways.... Good experiences?? Bad experiences?? I have to pull the trigger within a week. 2009 335i E92 CIC Nav (full idrive system confirmed to be covered) Sports Premium Cold weather Comfort access Smokers pkg |

Do it since you have the nav and it's not cheap to get it fix my friend.

..since it's covered through your employer, I would definitely go for it. Even if it weren't, I would consider getting perhaps a 1 or 2 year ext... but dropping 4k is not an easy task... it's peace of mind, really.. if you're worried that you'll have issues, go for it. If your vehicle has been reliable in the past and you conduct proper and regular maintenance, then it shouldn't fail you...

You're paying too much. And the info you have is wrong. Its 7 years total or 100k. Not an addition. If you are told otherwise then contact BMW before you purchase it.
My deductible is $50 per visit through BMW. I have the platinum Warr. |

It is an additional 3 years of warranty from the expiry date (so yes, 7 years total) without exceeding 140,000 KM. it is one of 8 options I have. I'm in Canada so I don't know if that makes a difference for time or mileage compared to warranties in the US.
The car has been pretty reliable, but from what I've read on these forums I've already had about $10,000 of repairs done under warranty... So the piece of mind seems pretty tempting... Not to mention it helps the resale value should I sell in a year or two. Thanks for the replies! |

..since you've already had 10k in warranty work done, I would definitely spring for the warranty!
On a side note, I used to own a Tacoma and bought warranty through the US at 1/3 of the price I was given in Canada - I'm not sure if BMW dealers in the US can do the same for us Canucks? |
