Chirping or chipmunk like noises from vents

I posted this issue on this thread ( http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=633763 ) but got no response.

In my 07 335i, It sounds like a bunch of chipmunks making noises from my vents (super annoying). Usually happens on all fan speeds except 4,5,6. The sound gets worse when i accelerate or start braking for a stop. Anyone know how to fix this?

Yeah, that's the heater/AC fan chirping...it seems to start after the car is maybe 4 years old or later. Only way I know to fix it is to have the fan replaced, which is not inexpensive if you're out of warranty. I had the same thing happen to my E46 330i ZHP.

The motor blower is VERY EASY to remove. It is located under the glove box,

You need to remove the Passenger kick panel to see it. (2 torx screws)

I removed mine and cleaned/lubed it in about 30 mins. I used silicone spray.
I suggest cleaning it before replacing, could save you $150!

The blower motor/fan assembly is available from Tischer for $156, and the regulator is $94 from the same source, although it is included in the price of the complete assembly, just in case cleaning it doesn't work or if "Alvin" returns. In my car, it's been in there 6 years, so I may just replace it. Great DIY, by the way!

Agreed. exact symptoms. Mine started at 79,000 kms (warranty expired at 80,000) so they replaced the fan.

My whole car has been taken apart... First they said it was the brake pads... that didnt fix it. Then it was a new crank pulley..gave the car back to me a second time..I brought it back a third time and then they changed the rear main seal..after two days they gave it back.. after a day I had it towed because the exhaust was not put back on right. While re bolting the exhaust they changed both front main struts ..at this point I was like WTF..so then they flew out their regional engineer from ATL and changed the A/C compressor, power steering...nope still no luck..smoke tested the engine...nothing found..... Car sat another 8 days before they tried changing the FRONT main seal.......so far that seems to have fixed the problem... Only took them 21 days and 8 tries....smh

Ugh...damn Sara, that's just crazy girl...
Well, my front right side of the dash/ front engine area is vibrating under certain RPMs now, so this should be fun.
I am certain they will blame my Dinan stuff.
I'll just have to take it 40 miles south to Circle BMW in Eatontown NJ- they are a certified Dinan dealer...
once this Sandy shit show is over

Mine went in yesterday sounding like flipper the dolphin or the chipmunks when slowing down. Service manager drove it for about 15 seconds and declared it as the front seal. They swapped the seal and said noise is still slightly there.
