factory fire extinguisher bracket not available
Just got a call from Bavarian Autosport's CS dept. - apparently the factory fire extinguisher bracket has been discontinued by BMW with no replacement. Anyone have a good solution to how to mount a FE in an E92?
thanks! |

Wow that really sucks. I had a friend that just happened to be coming from Germany pick me one up at a dealership over there last month, and she brought it here in her carry-on lol.
I think you could take a flat piece of sheet metal and bent it using a vice to something that'll work, I recall seeing a thread where someone did that and it looked great. GL man

Hey, I've had a car catch fire before (blown tranny cooler line) it makes me feel better to have one, and it makes me feel better yet to have it properly mounted. Besides it is only a matter of time before i start modifying stuff.

I don't know about you guys but, if I see a fire billowing out of my hood, I'm ditching her and running far far away.

Same here, electrical fault in a wiring harness started a fire in a car I had many years ago. Carrying a fire extinguisher made the difference between repairable damage and a total loss of the car plus its contents.

Have you got oil temp gauge, trans fluid gauge, coolant temp gauge, tach turned sidways and a race Recaro in there too? i thought only race cars and over modded Civics had fire extinguishers in them.

Legal requirement here. I have mine in the glove box; tied with a DIY strap to fuse box panel. Been there for a few years, no issues, but would like to have a far better FE than the powder one, really last thing you want to use |

Hey, if you can, I'd be in your debt. I don't doubt that I *could* fab something, but I'm really not in the fabbing groove right now. I've got a '55 Stude that needs some desperate TLC so I can sell it

I'm not a racer but I have been accused of being an engineer by nature, my old pickemup truck had trans temp, oil press, and vacuum slung under the dash, my Jeep has a Scangauge in it because I decided to go all high tech I like gauges. |
