E90 Sport Package But No Paddle Shifters?

Hey Guys,

After having my car for 3 months, it has not really bothered me until thinking about it more thoroughly today.

I have the sport package with my car but it does not come with paddle shifters. Is it true that only some come with paddles while others do not? I would definitely like the experience of shifting with paddles and it makes the steering wheel look a lot nicer and sportier as well.

So my question is, do all sport package steering wheels have paddle shifter cut-outs? If not, what would I have to do to get the paddles retrofitted?

Thanks a lot for any help guys!

According to the '06 E90 brochure, the paddles came only with the ZSP/Stepronic equipped 335i, not the 328i. I suspect that was not changed for '07.

No paddles here as well although sometimes I feel like buying a set of paddles and open the doors and row to go faster lol

Damn thanks for your response guys, and I just figured out that my car is not equipped with cut-outs for the paddles... Which means I will have to get a new wheel, not sure if it is worth it.

You would also have to hook up and program the car to read those shifters. Just getting a wheel with the paddle shifters alone would simply be a cosmetic upgrade.

There is a harness from BMS that is plug and play. No personal experience from it as I'm a 6MT guy but I saw it on their website a few yrs back.

Wrong, many have retrofitted paddle shifters on non paddle shifter cars on these forums already and none of them required any coding just a little wiring, time, and effort. That or you can go the easy route by buying a already made harness from BMS.

Yea, I was looking at the BMS plug and play OEM paddles, it makes me sooo mad that I do not have the cut-outs for that!
