I saw these rims today and i have no idea what kind they are. I took the photo with my phone so it is not the best quality.

I think those are the Volks TE-37 time attack. Those were already tried on an AW e92 before already. Search the forum for it....

Yea they look similar, but as i compare to two rims these seem to be some knock-offs of those Volk rims. Those Volk rims are amazing!!

Time attacks.
I think these type of wheels fit better on JDM cars. |

it's funny coz i wanted to get Axis Shines (20's) on my G, and when i decided to get the 335 i really wanted to get those wheels... but now i dont think they'd look good at all.
you really cannot put JDM wheels on german cars, or vice versa! it's weird |

I don't think the "no Japanese wheels on a German car" really applies as a strict rule though. Clearly there are some very good exceptions.
Personally I think the Volk ME's and RE's look fantastic on our cars. NEEZ are also Japanese wheels, and you have to admit the NEEZ QD7s look awesome on the E90/92 as well. However, I have to agree that generally the thick five spoke or thin six spoke wheel designs, common to many Japanese wheel designs gives a very aggressive "import tuner" look which sometimes clashes with the classic lines of the BMW. However never say never...because if you look at Longtran's car...an aggressive five spoke design (SSR SP1) looks awesome on his car when it is paired with his body kit and the Vorsteiner carbon fiber hood. if you're interested in buying volks, look into the faces... On that lexus, those are Face-1 (meaning, the wheels are FLAT if you look at them from a bird's point of view (top looking down at the ground)). On the other hand, on that e92, those are FACE-2 all around, meaning they are concaved in... I had a set of gunmetal VOLK GT-C's on my last car (rx8). I had Face-1 fronts, and Face-2 rears -- and for a staggered setup, it makes all the difference. |
