Has anyone else driven the Dodge Dart's manual transmission?

Ok, no bashing here just sharing experience.
I drove the dodge dart manual.
The 1.4L engine is just ok, we all know that, the 2.4L turbo is the one to get but not for sale yet.
My post is for the 6 speed manual. smoooooooooooth as butter. all gears any combination. just smooooth is all i can say. my 335 manual is like fighting with a bear, first to second the worst.

Please none of It's not the gearbox, it's the driver.
All i'm trying to say is that the dart manual was so much smoother and work way better "FOR ME" than my 335.

Any comments?

I always stick to this philosophy when considering any consumer item: if everybody had the same preference for things to work, look or feel the same exact way, every single kind of product would have only one manufacturer. That said, with all things considered, would you take the dodge over the bimmer? If yes, then do it and be comfortable and happy. If not, then it's clearly just one of the qualities of your car that you dislike but can live with.

How is the DCT in the 335is? Would that be a suitable replacement? I have no idea as I've never driven one, but that might be a consideration for you.

Thanks,
again don't take this as a complaint for my car. i bought the car for reason and i love it. just was surprised and didn't expect a "dart" to have such a smooth gearbox. That's all.

Dont forget we are talking about a Dodge product here.

I honestly cant complain, had mine 2 and half years and it has been problem free.

I'm sure if anyone could survive with a 2007 n54, they should do pretty well with a dodge/ fiat.
I think the dart is pretty handsome considering that its an entry level car. I'm very interested to see what an srt-4 version would look like.

I also think it is a very handsome entry level car. I would not compare it to the 3 series but for an entry level it absolutely packs a punch. I can also bet it will be more reliable than the e90.

But, back on the topic, has anyone driven it? i want to hear other people's opinion on the manual.
Cheers.

You gotta admit that it's a better looking option to a Civic, Corrolla, or Sentra.

I agree with you about the 335i 6speed.... Terrible. The 1-2 shift is pretty brutal even with CDV and clutch stop installed. If I go to fast it grinds. At first I thought this was me and I wasn't pushing the clutch far enough or whatnot but then I read a thread on here with other manual owners having the same issues...

I drove a rental with 200 miles on the odometer. Piece of crap! First the trunk would not close after trying more than 20 times. The speedometer would work sometimes. The passenger outside door handle came off - it is clipped on by plastic catchers.

Given that it was a rental, I'm going to say no.

I've driven Stick shifts all my life...there is no doubt that BMW shift from 1st to 2nd is not as smooth as it should be. I'm talking about the actual stick motion, not the gearbox. You have to make little effort to make the stick move smoother...not sure if you are talking about the same thing.
